I had a wonderful experience! I was one of the few adults in the office haha. But finally straightening out my crooked teeth was well worth it after all these years. All the staff, including Dr Gibbs, were extremely friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed chatting with them. He explained the state of my teeth and the options available to treat it, including the braces available, and how we had to file my teeth down slightly to make more room. Thankfully, we didn’t have to resort to tooth extraction! Best of all, I never had to wait, but was always seen right away. Highly recommend

We went for a consultation at Gibbs when we initially were seeking treatment options for our two sons. The website clearly advertises a "complimentary orthodontic consultation". As a reference, we were not charged for "complimentary" consultations at two other orthodontists on the UES prior to this visit. Imagine our surprise when we were hit with a $800 fee ($400 per child). How is it complimentary if there is a fee? I would avoid this office, as this was very misleading.
i’m sorry for the misunderstanding. Yes , our consultation is free and then usually there is a discussion during your initial phone conversation that charges could occur if you decided to move forward towards treatment and the fees are for the diagnostic xrays, scans and photos. This would be followed by a next appointment that would be a full discussion of you children’s treatment. i will take full responsibility for the miscommunication and again accept my apologies for the misunderstanding.

Highly recommend Dr. Gibbs, Dr. Kaplan, and the excellent team! They are knowledgeable and trustworthy. They are caring about the health of your teeth and your satisfaction. I used to be afraid of braces but I like my braces now because they work hard to make me feel comfortable so braces won’t affect me at all. I enjoy visiting their office every time and everybody is friendly and patient. The location is great, too. Really close to Central Park and walking to my home after every visit is one of my favorite things.

Updated Dec 3, 2024 And after a bit longer than expected, because my son’s teeth were stubborn, we can’t believe the final results. Simply AMAZING!!! Staff are friendly. They are always understanding when I am late (which is always). I have come in whenever my braces needed fixing and they have always helped out. They have a charger to charge your phone in case it is dead (which mine always is). They always have amazing movies playing in the waiting area and they let me stay afterwards to finish watching them (which I always do) Forget about the movie theatre I’d take my girlfriend here if she ever wanted to come (which is never). My teeth look decidedly less British since I started coming here and I am very grateful for it. Overall amazing orthodontist and staff!

Dr. Gibbs is a professional, knowledgable, reliable, and very friendly orthodontist! I am 57 yo, and I do not have an experience with orthodontists in NY. I checked a few alternatives, but the moment I stepped into Dr. Gibbs office, spoke with him, listened to his explantations and analyze, and then his recommendations, I knew that I TRUST him and want him to be my orthodontist. Both my children are patients of Dr. Eric Gibbs. My daughter is 11 and has been seeing Dr. Gibbs and his assistants for 2 years. Her mouth was a mess and she had a complicated underbite. Dr. Gibbs’ treatment plan incorporated all our concerns; financial, emotional and physical. Everyone working at Gibbs Ortho is kind, friendly and extremely accommodating. My daughter “pops in” and is always welcome regardless of how busy the office is. Dr. Gibbs relates incredibly well to his young patients and the kids are happy to see him making the whole process much easier than it would be elsewhere. My son just got braces and is older than my daughter. He was worried about aesthetics. Dr. Gibbs looked into every alternative for my son’s case and presented us with all options and pros and cons enabling us to pick the best treatment plan. My son really owned the decision thanks to Dr. Gibbs and their relationship. Finally, scheduling and administrative facets of the process are painless with his front desk associates Cristal and Zaida. The practice feels like family and it’s evident every time we visit. I highly recommend Gibbs Ortho. They really are the best.

Dr. Gibbs is hands down the BEST orthodontist in NYC. I’ve been told by several orthodontists and dentists that I may need jaw surgery due to my underbite and crooked bite. Dr Gibbs requested Invisalign and it was THE BEST thing I did for myself. Within 6 months my teeth became aligned beautifully. I’ve been a patient of Dr. Gibbs since I was 9 years old. He’s not like any ordinary orthodontist. He truly does what’s best for your teeth and finds ways to avoid them from shifting over time. I am very happy with my results and think every one should have the opportunity to have beautiful teeth. Not to mention the staff is amazing so helpful and kind!

We started about 1 month ago with Dr. Gibbs for my daughter's palate expander. So far, the experience has been excellent! Dr. Gibbs is very knowledgeable & personable. That we knew based on our various conversations with him, but the "icing on the cake" is that his staff is also excellent. Very professional and very nice. Things never seem to run late and we never have to wait. If I call with a question, they put me on the phone with the assistant who specifically worked on my daughter and she remembers specific details about my daughter's teeth. We don't have any other experience with orthodontia, so don't have any other points for comparison. Compared to our other medical & dental experiences though, this is for sure high on the list!
