I'm giving this 3 stars only because the receptionist is very good at listening and easing the patient. The Doctor told me I was fine after looking at my x-rays. I told him my right tooth and left tooth were sore, he went back for 1 minute to re-check the x-rays and said I needed a crown...I did not feel respected because they did not give me any time or show me how they knew it to be that I need a crown and not just a new filling. I felt like I was just there to give them money. If you don't have time for your patient, let them know and reschedule, don't make the appointment 5 minutes long...

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DENTIST AT ALL. Went in for a cleaning on Thursday 8/29/2024 with Dr. Ghotanian in Encino and will be the last time I see this dentist. Will be calling my insurance to switch dentists and probably even going back to PPO. And I made the mistake of not checking all the 1-star reviews. My opinion, I’ve never had such a quick, lazy, poorly done cleaning from a dentist before. It was about a 20-second drill tool that the Dr used on my teeth and then finished and said his assistant will then polish my teeth. The polishing was a joke too, some of my teeth felt the same texture as before cleaning. When I go for a cleaning from other dentists my teeth always feel so smooth and the really take their time to remove plaque, tartar, and stains using various tools. I think this dentist is a complete joke. I waited almost 30 minutes for this too. The dentist had suggested a treatment but seeing as to how he performs a regular cleaning, I definitely would not want him doing any treatment on me. Not very personable either.

DO NOT come here. They are completely unprofessional. The dentist will not get on the phone with you. He rushed our appointment. Sent me to a specialist for root canal when I was in no pain or in need of a root canal. They said the referred specialist takes my insurance. I still had to pay full amount for that visit when they told me it would be included with my insurance. I did that for no reason. The specialist told me I don’t need a root canal. The dentist office lies to me and tells me the specialist suggested a root canal. Their business hours online are wrong. They close their business whenever they want, 3pm, 4pm, even though they say they should close at 6pm. They do not return your voicemails. The receptionist is rude. There is no care or quality in their business or service. They will quote you double than any other dentist! They quoted me more than double than 10 other dentists for a crown! And I have insurance!!

Dr. Tina Ghotanian at Ghotanian Dental Encino is a true professional and a pleasure to work with?. Her logical approach to dental care really sets her apart and she always takes the time to explain everything in a way that's easy to understand. Don't go here if you want to save your teeth and walk out alive. They deleted and reported my mom's post so I'm posting here. The negative review is because they over charge and don't confirm a patient is healthy before they do sedation. They are rude to other offices when asking the call to ask for the x-rays. They will try and remove this post as they did my mom's, but they are a horrible. Don't come here if you want to WALK OUT ALIVE WITH TEETH. They are very rude with replies or contact Google to flag your account yet they don't tell about themselves Update: After my mom called the office and Margie says she never goes online... was there a reply to my post. So I notified Google about their schnanagans so they are on Google radar.

Untrustworthy doctor and staff. They will make anything up in order to take your money! I’ve never had any troubles with my teeth and he tried to scare me into starting a new procedure that I “needed.” I’m so glad I waited and found a new dentist who is genuine and caring. She told me he was definitely lying! Please do not trust this man and do not give him your money! Edit to their reply: Yes, they definitely do! That’s why I know you guys are scammers. No need to thank me. I just hope my honest review helps other innocent patients!

I can never trust Dr. Rene Ghotanian ever and his front desk staff! The first priority for him is money and not caring for the patient. I had two bad experiences with Dr Ghotanian. He referred me to an Endodontist for root canal treatment of my tooth. Then, his staff called me that I need to come back to office and get a referral for Periodontist to extract my tooth instead of Endo! what? they were supposed to save my tooth and not extract it to put an implant!! Finally I went to an Endodontist and did a root canal. I'm happy I didn't let them pull out my tooth. Never trust this dentist!

I can’t rave and rant enough about Dr. Ghotanian and his team. Getting my implant done was so simple. I’m very happy with the result. The Dr. is so talented. He knows his stuff. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

From the moment I walked through the door my experience was stellar. The office staff is kind and cheerful. Dr. G is gentle and thorough and soothed my anxiety with his fun, upbeat personality. I would highly recommend their practice to everyone as I no longer hate going to the dentist :)

I always feel welcomed and get the personal touch at his offices. Dr. Ghotanian is a good listener, pays attention to details, and has an excellent staff. He just completed a beautiful front tooth implant for me, after I had an accident and knocked out my tooth. I highly recommend him.

I've been a patient of dr. Ghotanian for probably over a decade. During that time I always felt like I was rushed in and out by him and he always seemed to find something I needed to do that was always expensive and required things like removing a tooth etc. recently I had a very bad toothache and he tried to rush me into getting dental surgery that would've required me to pay over $10,000 out of pocket. He made it seem like it was urgent and tried to get me to commit to this procedure right away (he seems to love making everything seem like to urgent and needs to be taken care of right then and there). I've always felt like I was being upsold by this doctor. You know that feeling when your in the finance office of a used car lot and they want you to sign right then and there. That's how t feels dealing with this guy. Anyways, to make a long story short I was recommended to another dentist who took x-rays, did an exam and they informed me that I didn't need the tooth extraction, implant, surgery etc. needless to say I wasn't surprised. It's been over a year and my teeth feel fine. I feel like Ghotanian tried to rush me into this surgery just to make a buck off me. I would not recommend this doctor. Don't let the fancy location in Encino fool you. I personally am very distrustful of this doctor.

Dr. Ghotanian is very knowledgeable and kind. I had three teeth extracted with implants installed in the same procedure. Incredibly I had very little pain that was easily controlled with tylenol and motrin. I have never had a dental procedure of that type with so little pain which is telling of one thing. This doctor has skills! I have heard from people there are dentists out there that are good enough at what they do to keep the pain and swelling to a minimum I just had not run across it yet. Looks like I found one!
