This year in March 2023, I had 2 crowns replaced. Looked great. I also had 2 fillings done. Nice. I returned in late May for 2 more fillings redone. I recommend this small dental office. Pay cash in dollars and receive 10% discount after you see the bill. Of course, get a quote before you go. Set up an appointment, then go. Enjoy the shrimp tacos a few blocks down the road near the mercado artesanal near the border. Update: May 2024 I came back to Downtown Dental because my doctor in the USA told me I needed 2 crowns redone and deep cleaning. After a thorough exam and Xrays, the surgeon, Dr Silvia, told me I didn't need anything. My teeth were just cleaned recently and she said they look good. My teeth were solid and my gums look healthy. I booked an appointment and went in, thinking I had to retreat a tooth , as I was told before by a previous dentist. They could have just retreated my tooth and charged me more, but , after careful examination of new X-rays, they recommended to wait and see whether there is any change in the situation as it might not be needed. After researching for two months on and off, I narrowed down to four clinics. Initially, I contacted DDC through email, then switched to WhatsApp with Evelyn, a native English speaker. She gave me clear info, helped without being pushy, and followed up gently. When I first arrived in Tijuana, I went to another clinic for a second opinion but quickly realized it wasn't the right fit. In just five minutes, they were pushing for crowns, which I didn't want. At DDC, the dentist I met was calming, sincere, and reassured me throughout the process, all while taking great care. Everyone who works here exudes professionalism; all can be personable if you are. The results of her work are amazing and look natural—I'm happy! I highly recommend DDC. Check reviews and trust your instincts.

I literally just got a PAINLESS ROOT CANAL from Dr. Javier. And then Dr. Nancy with Marisela followed up with 3 fillings and temp crown. This office made me feel so welcomed and relaxed. They answered all my questions, did not feel pressured or rushed. Very professional yet easy going staff. They did a root canal on me , went in with horrific throbbing pain, after one hour everything was normal again and better. It was quick too. Docs really know what they’re doing there. I was super skeptical at first considering all the horror stories from other places. But this is just like the ones in the USA if not a little better ;) thank you to the whole amazing team and doctors ! Hopefully I’ll be back soon for possible braces next!

I was very skeptical at first about going to Mexico to have my dental implants done but after meeting with Dr Jacob he described to me the procedure exactly the same as how it had been described to me by multiple oral surgeons in the United States. After he extracted all my bottom teeth which had been ground down to practically nothing he did the placement of the posts & temporary denture. Unfortunately I developed an infection and was having severe pain so he had me come back and he removed the denture and cleaned the area that was infected and sent me home with antibiotics both oral and a rinse for my mouth. I developed some type of respiratory issue which landed me in the hospital. I told the doctors at the hospital that I had an oral infection, not one looked inside my mouth they discontinued my antibiotics that Dr Jacob had prescribed. They admitted me to the hospital and stopped my antibiotics. I texted Dr Jacob what was going on and through a mutual friend of mine who also sees him he sent me stronger antibiotics and every single day he texted me to make sure that I was on the road to recovery. I am very impressed with his professionalism his level of caring and I would recommend him to anyone. I've healed had my permanent denture completed & I'm very pleased with Dr Jacob and his staff and I think you would be too if you decide to come and meet with him. Even though I can have work done on US side, I will continue to use Downtown Dental for my Dental needs.

For years I had been afraid of going to the dentist because of bad experiences, I knew I had to start looking for a dentist, I started by searching on Google and Facebook but I wasn't very convinced by the reviews. Shortly after, my husband told me about his friend from work who mentioned Downtown Dental to him, well, I said I'd try it. And I made my appointment. The moment I walked in I felt so much peace and positive energy. After meeting Gabriel and Dentist Jacobo, their kindness impressed me, how they treat each other with such kindness and demonstrate such professionalism and most importantly, their care for their patients. Clean and efficient. My phone dropped out and misled my navigation. But everything else went great. Nice folks, and they fixed several things at once - (spent all day on me). I’ll definitely be going back for another issue. And their prices are great.

This was one of the best dental experiences I've had. Staff was warm and welcoming, and very gentle. They even offered to pick me up from the border. I've already scheduled a return visit and plan on making them my go to for dental work. Thank you! Edit: I recently returned to have a crown installed. Good work. I traveled in from Oregon by plane so I want to share how I got there and returned for those who don't want to drive across the border. I flew into San Diego International. From there take the 992 bus, which stops right outside there airport. The 992 takes you to downtown San Diego. Bus fair is $2.50, exact change only and I think it runs every 15 minutes. Get off the bus at Broadway & Kettner, which is right across the street from the light rail station. Take the Blue Line rail to San Ysidro, which is the end of the line. Rail is $2, but I honestly have no idea how that gets paid. I just bought a card at a vending machine for $7 (day fair for both bus and rail) and when the train arrived I just got on. Once at San Ysidro, consider exchanging some US for Pesos if you plan on doing some shopping. No charge for this. Walking over the border was simple and you really can't miss it. Show your passport, go thru customs. Done. Don't forget to set your phone to roaming, or call your service provider to make sure you can get service. I was not able to make calls, but could receive them. Both times I went, I booked and AirBnB right downtown, near Ave. Revolucion. Both stays were comfortable and quite. The first trip I arrived late so I took a cab to the room. The next trip I walked. If you aren't okay with just finding your way, just show a cabby the address you want to go to. There is always cabs right over the border. Walking around downtown I always felt safe even at night: police presence is... extreme to say the least. I simply walked to all my appointments from my AirBnB. Returning home I walked north up Revolucion to the arch then headed north east thru the market way. You'll see a couple of signs pointing to the border but they're not obvious. Ask for directions if you need, plenty of people speak at least enough English to point you in the right direction. The line at the border can sometimes be long, about an hour and a half wait my first time and that was after taking a cab to the next town over to cross. Have your audiobook and headphones ready. That's all. I was very satisfied with the entire experience and plan on returning to get some cavities filled. Thank you Downtown Dental!

This dental office is the best! I was looking for more affordable dental work but I also wanted an office that was comparable to US standards. I found it all in this office. Dr Zuniga and his staff go above and beyond in every way. I live in San Diego where dental work can cost the price of a down payment on a house. I searched for many hours looking for the right dentist. So glad I found this office and Dr. Zuniga. If you are hesitating, don't. You will not be disappointed in this office. They speak English very well, so communication is not an issue.

Dr. Jacob is an excellent dentist/surgeon. He has cared for me since I had my first cavities. I have been visiting him for over 15 years. He is very patient and conscientious in his work. He doesn't just do work for the sake of paying; he does what the patient really needs. He also dedicates the necessary time to each job. I recommend him because I have had a very good experience with his services. I am nervous and sensitive about hygiene, but Dr. Jacob treats me with all the patience, as if he were treating a child. I called several dental offices in Tijuana and unfortunately I would get a feeling that all they wanted was money. So, I was extremely happy when I called Downtown Dental Clinic and was assisted by Gabriel. He is so knowledgeable and addressed all my concerns. The day of my appointment, Gabriel and Manuel picked me and my family up at the border and took us to the office. Once there, Dr. Diana did a consultation with me in a very gentle and caring way. I immediately trusted her, she is very sincere. She gave me several options and I proceeded to begin my treatment with Dr. Jacobo. He is simply the best. I got 2 extractions and 3 implants. I was super nervous but he was so gentle and even put music to help ease my anxiety. Everyone there is so professional and even brought food for husband after his treatment with Dr. Diana which was painless and gentle. I feel they go above and beyond for their patients and provide quality service. Their prices are very affordable but really I would have paid extra just for the quality service I received. It's not fun to go to the dentist, but I have to admit that Dr. Jacobo makes you feel very comfortable, he explains each procedure as much detail before and during the treatment. The prices you have are very affordable, in San Diego I would pay at least 3 times the cost of here. The clinic is 5 minutes from the border crossing, you will not have problems to arrive. I received great care, most of the staff and the doctor were fluent in English and everyone was very considerate. The clinic itself is easy to find and very close to the border, a 20min walk or a short carshare ride, which allows you to leave your car parked on US side and walk trough the border. I will definitely go back next time I need dental care!

Came here based off of reviews online. Got an upper labial frenectomy for a torn frenulum and gummy smile. It was painless with the numbing medicine and Dr Jacobo and Dr Diana made sure I was comfortable and my needs were met throughout it. Even called me the day after to check on me. The prescribed medication seem to be doing their job and there is minimal post swelling. Price was very affordable. The clinic is clean, secure and cooled. Staff is friendly and value your concerns. They answered all questions I had. They do not sway you from your desires and will grant what you search for. Office hours are also very convenient and open Monday through Saturday. Offers US phone number to reach them at as well if you do not have service to call Mexican numbers. Tijuana is just like any other city. It is an overall clean, friendly city and easy to get around. Tons of safe public transportation with Taxi Libre (white and orange colored taxi) and Uber and very close to the USA border. Many speak or understand english due to its location. I highly recommend both Tijuana and Dr Jacobo and Dr Diana for any of your dental needs.

Then I remembered that every time I have visited Tijuana there are always signs for dentists, so I got online to do some research. After reading reviews on a number of websites I set an appointment at 3 different dental offices to get x-rays and consultation. After going to all three I decided on Downtown Dental Clinic, even though it wasn't the least expensive one it was the one that made me feel the most comfortable. Dr. Jacobo is one the nicest people, he personally has even called to check up on me. He speaks perfect English and his staff does as well. I recommend any and all people who are in need of dental work to consider Downtown Dental Clinic!
