I had such a great experience here getting my 4 wisdom teeth (impacted) extracted. Everything so clean, professional, and gentle. One hiccup was I live in the states, so I made my exam and the removal the same day, and was told via email that was fine. Upon my examination they realized my teeth were too close to my nerves and needed a specialist to remove the teeth but he wasn’t available. Luckily they didn’t find someone, and he was amazing, but I almost had to come back the next day. Not a problem but just something to consider - You may want to book your exam first, and then your removal for a different day just in case! I also appreciate them knowing that a specialist was needed and not just going for it and hitting a nerve. Otherwise the entire appointment went smoothly and I can’t recommend this spot enough!

I've had 2 appointments with ASD now. I've had deep cleaning and 2 root canals. Both were very painless and efficient procedures. The office is very clean and professional & easy to reach by Uber from the San Ysidro crossing. It had been a long time since I had gone to the dentist and felt a lot of shame about it, especially after being treated poorly by American dentists. There is no shame here, you aren't lectured or pressured. Everyone is very professional and kind, this is the way dental care should be. I've been going to this dentist for three years. Dr Alejandra Flores is one of the best dentist i've ever had. I've had two implants done with her and that experience, while super traumatic on its own, was made less so by Dr Flores and her team. If they offer you the gas, do it, it's worth it. All other general dentist work and experiences have been exemplary. The office staff are kind, courteous, and helpful, like miles above and beyond. One time i got stuck in the street with no parking and one of the front staff moved her car so i could park. They also help with insurance paperwork if you want to make a claim to US insurance. Regarding the costs comparisons with US, i think it's probably about the same. For me, it's more about the quality and care, and i believe this dentist office is better than what i had in the US.

Had 3 much dreaded and feared root canals. They were so painless, I fell asleep twice. They also put pins/posts in for upcoming crowns. Absolutely amazing experience. Office speaks English too. I clean houses and always look at restrooms, theirs was spotless, even grout was pristine. Whole place was CLEAN, and they practiced perfect hygiene. Everyone was cheerful. Finally prices are 1/2 to 2/3 lower. in US I needed $22,000-32,000 worth of work. Their price is less than 1/2 the lowest quote I got in US. And best of all? They cram as much work in as possible each visit. So my basic overhaul will be done in 1/3 the time. I am not a fan of 3 visits instead of 1. Oh and they have all the specialties in one place, in IS I would have gone to one place for the root canals, another for other work. Slate your whole day for the work so you can be relaxed and not anxious to leave.

Met with Dr. George. Complex issue that will require surgery. The office is efficient. Within 3 mins of my appointment I was in the CT Scan. They provided me with a comprehensive written treatment plan and ensured that I understood the options and their respective impacts. I've had other word done from Dr. Sunil in Thailand, and will say that Advanced Smiles is on par. The vibe is different, but the quality of advice seems similar. Will check back in after the work is done.

Look no further, this is the best dentist you are going to find. I have been going to Advanced Smiles since 2020. Dra. Alejandra Ponce has fixed everything for me. The staff is amazing, including the receptionists. There is an assistant who is with your dentist the entire time while they are working on you and I have never seen that in the US. Most dentists in the US are working multiple patients at the same time by themselves. That makes a big difference in the quality and the entire experience. The last time I was there, my crown came off and they put it back on for free. I am never going to another dentist in the US.

Worst crowns i ever got in my life by far. Went there for two front crowns came out looking like bugs bunny . Im having trouble living with them.DONT go there for good looking crowns. Also Those ct scans are completely unnecessary, they dont go over it and still do a bunch of x rays after.UPDATE 2025 Beware if these are real dentists then they aren’t very experienced. Avoid this nightmare , after 2 years with these huge ugly front crowns I decided to get them replaced. I couldn’t stand how they looked or felt. They felt loose at times and would bleed at the gums. The dentist replacing them told me this dentist had filed the teeth way too much from the back giving popped out buck teeth look! Because so much of the teeth were incorrectly filed , there wasn’t much improvement with the new crowns.

Been a patient since 2022, my husband has been a patient since 2019, we live in North San Diego County, we drive to Tijuana for our appointments, we have Sentri cards which makes our return trip very easy. We both speak a bit of Spanish, however the staff all speak excellent English. All the staff is professional and friendly; Dr. José Luis Metzler is our Dentist he is professional, attentive and gentle. I trust him with all my dental care. Some of the fillings and crowns done by my USA dentist have failed over time and have been replaced by Dr.Metzler and continue to serve me well. The X-ray taken today shows another USA crown gone awry. While the office itself is modest and humble, all of the dental equipment appears to be high tech. The cost comparison between USA and Advanced Smiles pricing is what brought us in, however our “Family Dentist” and the Staff has made us devoted patients.

This is the best dentist office I’ve ever been to and I’m from the states. The staff is always super knowledgeable and I’ve worked with a couple dentists and the orthodontist and they are all top of the line. I’ve gotten cleaning, x-rays, all four molars removed and currently going through an Invisalign program. Prices are extremely fair for the amazing work they do. And everyone is very pleasant. Also they have the BEST music. Got to listen to the best house playlist while getting my teeth removed I choose to come here, even though I have dental insurance in the states. 11/10 ??✨

State of the art facility with friendly professional staff. Good communication, English speakers. Pay one third of Stateside prices. I had multiple extractions, bone grafts and implants. Quoted $39,000 in LA, paid $13,000 over a nearly two-year period. Walk across at San Ysidro five minutes-call-they have an Uber there $5 within 3-4 minutes. Easy.

I was traveling to Tijuana for a few days. I had heard about dental tourism, so I researched and found that Advanced Smiles Dentistry had great reviews and like many practices in Mexico, the cost of dental work is significantly lower than in the States. I called and and scheduled an appointment. They were so accommodating to my travel schedule. I ended up getting lost on their street. I called and two minutes later a woman with a warm smile and a wave met me and led me to the office. Another American there was full of the best praise for this dental practice. He had been a patient for a number of years and said he wouldn't go anywhere else. I got my teeth cleaned and my doctor found an abscess. She took X-rays and advised me to get to the doctor who put in my implant quickly in order to increase the likelihood that it could be saved. I am returning to Advanced Smiles Dentistry for future dental work and I am recommending this practice to people in my neighborhood, many of whom are on retirement incomes. While they are fluent in both Spanish and English, they were very supportive of my attempts to practice a bit of Spanish with them. I highly recommend Advanced Smiles Dentistry.

Top notch customer service, Dra Alejandra is the best you'll find in all of Tijuana! With every single dental issue I've had, Dra Alejandra has helped me with honesty, integrity, and professionalism. The entire staff and owner are also incredible, making sure that you are taken care of, even if you come in absolutely miserable because of years of dental problems. The only thing I recommend against is getting TMJ botox without doing your research beforehand and covering all questions you have. After my 2nd injections, my smile has completely disappeared and it's been nearly 7-8 months since I received TMJ botox. This is a very tragic side effect that I was unaware was even a possibility, so I wish I had been told this could happen. Please do your research before getting injections done!! But the owner was very proactive in making sure he could do everything in his power to help remedy the issue and make sure I was happy in spite of the complications. Even though I'm irrevocably heartbroken that I've lost my smile, I am so grateful that ASD exists, and will keep coming back for all my dental needs. Thank you, ASD!

I am not satisfied with the work done, they are charging more and the quality of work has gone done, the temporary crown was put after the recorrection of the root canal treatment and that temporary crown came out in one day, they are not perfect in their work, and don’t care that the person have to spend whole day for the dentist appointment ( as I have to go from USA to Mexico taking a day off from work)

I'm going to try to make this as indepth and objective as i can for those who appreciate reviews with substance. Review request from Dr Rodriguez (the main dentist that worked on me for almost 2 weeks I was in Mexico) Disclaimer: my experience will be different to many, as I had to get ALOT of work done over many, many hours. Cosmetic results: No complaints on how my teeth turned out visually and cosmetically. I had alot of cavities to fill and my teeth look good, natural, the shape is kept well. I have no reference to what bad cosmetic results would look like from dentist work but all I can say is my teeth look better walking out than they did walking in. Practical results: My bite is fair and even. I can't say for sure if all my issues were fixed and the work was done solidly. It looks like they were and I have no sensitivity or pain or anything that comes from damaged teeth. But it's impossible to know for these reasons. I'd need to get another x-ray after my work done, and id need to have more time since my work done to be able to make a sound judgement based on how my teeth feel. This to me is the only objective way to be able to assess the practicality of the procedures. (If the work was done properly without mistake) however, no matter the country you get work this is the case for everyone. You either need to feel it out, or get xrays after your work. So if you're a logical thinker this section won't surprise you. All I can say is as of right now I have 0 issues. Comfortability & proffesionalism Now this is where it gets nuanced. If you're here for a day trip like alot of the foreigners who come here then this part might be of lesser concern. And my only frame of reference to compare comfortability is through my experiences back in canada. The culture here is different than what you and I are use too. The dentists and their colleagues converse casually while working on. Jokes and games, informal chatting. And it's always in spanish. This was something I had to get use too. In the west were quite serious and my experiences with dentists back in canada would be considered very formal as compared to here. Is it a bad thing? Well it depends who you ask. Is it possible for more mistakes to be made under this environment? Sure, but I personally think its a matter of the individual. Some people work better in strict formal settings, others don't. I had maybe around 10 appointments with these guys, and there was definitely times where you're getting water dropped on you, maybe an instrument hits one of your teeth a bit harder than it should, maybe the suction tube was pushed maybe a bit too hard into your gums etc. These are little things, for me it's no problem and everyone makes mistakes no matter the country you're in however if you're here over a long period of time like I was, its important to communicate these things. I didn't, because I didn't care but I can imagine some people would. And I really do think these guys would be happy to accommodate and be mindful of any requests. I was definitely comfortable, and my doctor checked in on me alot as I sadly had to get probably close to 100 anastheasia injections over the course of the time I was here. But this is a me thing and my own bodies reaction to anaesthetic. I have that issue back in canada. But Dr Rodriguez didn't take issue with the sheer amount of injections we had to do. They could've been injected more gently based on what I remember it feeling like back in canada, but at the end of the day I could've said something about it and I didn't because pain is temporary. However I think for the average person, if you're here a long period of time and you have a relatively high immunity to anasthesia, it'd probably be smart to really establish those things that you need from the dentists here in order to accommodate you the most. I don't like complaining so I sucked it up. But I again from what I can tell they'd be happy to accommodate, and it doesn't feel like they want to rush the work. Easily one of the best dentist experience I’ve ever had. We’re from San Diego where I have done two crowns in which were not properly done. This fiasco made me pursue dentistry in Tijuana due to its reputation and that’s how I found advanced smiles dentistry. Unlike dentists in America, on their first consultation, they will not push you to do any procedures. They’re very open and honest with their prices and what really needs to be done. I was lucky enough to have Doctor Livier Cardenas as my dentist and she redid one of my crowns perfectly. She’s so careful and honest, and always tries to save the tooth before any major procedure is required to be done. We keep telling all of our friends how safe and lucky we feel to have this office so close to our home. Easily the best dentists I’ve had!

8/27/2024: start to finish this was single-handedly the worst experience I’ve had with a dentist and care provider. If you are from the US run away. The pain is not worth it. What had turned into lockjaw from the crown’s height is now extreme muscle pain in my neck. Despite that, the dentist told me it was because of my crossbite!! I have had 7 other crowns put in and never this much pain. Now, about a month later the crown is throbbing and there is shooting pains in the crown during and after. The front office girls were nice and helpful but they could not help the fact that my crown is bad. I called and they want me to buy another CT scan instead of replacing the crown. I need a second opinion at this point because this level of care has impacted my life.

Absolutely outstanding. I chose to make a long trip by train and then a tram to the border. At that point I was picked up by an Uber driver provided by Advanced Smiles and even being 1/2 hour late for my appointment they had X-rays taken and in a chair within minutes. My doctor was responsive to my concerns and made the doctors I’d seen in California inept. He was very qualified in the surgery that happened and I was made to feel comfortable the entire visit. It’s just a very very good dental office. I’ll have several appointments for the work to be done and am looking forward to my next visit. The absolute best. Even after moving to Hawaii, I still make the trip back to see Dr. Alejandra. Today, I visited with concerns about a past root canal done by a different dentist that had started to feel sensitive. I was fully prepared to pay for a redo and a new crown, but after a CT scan, X-rays, and a detailed exam, Dr. Alejandra determined the issue was actually due to clenching and grinding. I recently got a whole mouth reconstruction of all my teeth done here. My experience was nothing short of exceptional from beginning to end. The whole staff here is friendly, professional, caring, and always super helpful. I had numerous appts over a period of a few months and every time I was there I had a flawless experience. Dr. Manriquez is the doctor who did all the reconstructive work on my mouth. He is the absolute best dentist that I have ever had do work on my teeth. From beginning to end he is a perfectionist in his work and always strives to give you exactly what you were envisioning. To say he is an expert at reconstructing teeth is an understatement. I have absolutely flawless teeth at the end of this process and I cannot have wished for a better dentist than Dr. Manriquez. I would give this place ten stars if I could! If you have any dental work that needs to be done, you can stop looking anywhere else and just go here. You will not be disappointed in the seamless and flawless experience that you will get here. From my initial interaction over email through the completion of my care plan, I felt welcomed and truly cared for by all of the staff, from the front desk to hygienists to the dentist. I have been coming to advance smiles dentistry for years. It seems that each time I've come I've experienced something that exceeds my expectations. It starts with their great communication prior to arrival, the reception desk, equipment, technicians and doctors all are worthy of a genuine 5 star rating. Today, after not having visited for over a year, I was assigned to a new dentist. I had originally been with the kind, carng talented doctor De Anda, better known as Dr. Julian, who (I believe) owns and has grown the practice (without sacrificing quality). Over the years, I've been in the good care of his family members and tip notch dentists. Today was no exception! Dr. Juan Carlos Macias was informative, gental and clearly aiming to please me, the patient. When up against a challenge he ran into he tried various ways and tools until he was successful. I hired a driver to pick me up in San Diego and with a medical pass we arrived back at the border at prime time but avoided the lines. Indeed the initial draw to having work done in Mexico was for the financial savings, which is legitimate...but now, I wouldn't go anywhere else!!

This is the only dentist I’ve ever been completely relaxed at. I got some veneers ( different dentists work) replaced and they look so much nicer now. I felt like the dentist that worked on my fillings did a good job. However, she was 30 minutes late for the appointment, and never explained or apologized for that lateness. Also, a word of caution, my Uber was supposed to pick me up at 8:40. The office said to call them to confirm that.in the AM. I called them at 8:30, 835, 840 and 845 and nobody answered the phone any of those times. . It went straight to voicemail. They explained to me that they don’t always get to the phones until 840 or after. That could be problematic if you have someone waiting and uncertain about whether the office is open or not. Especially someone who’s coming from across the border and doesn’t really know their way around. while I was being worked on by the dentist, I asked if she could briefly explain what she was doing, so that I would have some knowledge Of what to expect. That’s what my other dentist have done in the past.. I didn’t need to know every step of the way just in general. However, she didn’t explain anything. It certainly would’ve been appreciated if she had. Having said all that. I did feel like it was quality dentistry, and I will return in the future. I do hope They do some fine-tuning of their practices regarding the above.

Thank you Dr. Manríquez for taking me in on an emergency. I couldn't chew any food. The pain in my upper molar was in such a horrible pain. It was excruciating. They were able to see me the next day. They did X-rays and a CT Scan to evaluate the problem. Although it wasn't visible on the X-Rays. They were able to do a root canal. The pain was gone immediately but it was still a bit sensitive for about 7 more hours. I was able to eat. I have not needed to take any pain relievers after I took one Aleve. The pain is gone. I'm so grateful to the doctors that helped me. Thanks a million.

Came all the way from Kentucky, and I found my doctor for life. Don’t let fear and propaganda stop you. I had nothing but an amazing experience. Follow the travel guides, and stick with the advice of the team at ASD and your hotel. You will be fine! Dr. José Luis Metzler (D.D.S) is an angel and went above and beyond to help me. He took the time to talk me through everything (in English, btw. Almost everyone in the office is bilingual), I was terrified and in dire straits. He calmed my anxieties and helped figure out the best plan of action for my budget and medical case. Was able to do better than expecting. He is funny and able to crack jokes to keep you in a good place. Felt at ease and safe in his hands, like a new friend. Not forgetting the staff. Liz helped me so much. Between the 40 emails and multiple phone calls, she made sure I got there, and I was taken care of. Helped me book a hotel and coordinate rides. She was always there with help and answers, along with comfort for my fear. Felt safe with her around, a true joy. Feel guilty, I can’t remember all the names because everyone was so helpful. From the doctor’s assistant, who stayed all day in surgery to the people running x-rays, the artists molding dental prosthetics. Even down to my driver, Omar. He was sent from office at a reasonable rate to pick me all the way up from the airport in San Diego, right to the office. He was funny, personable, and very kind. Willing to help with translations in town or what have you. Very calm and careful, not crazy, and fast like taxi’s that will rip you off and scare you. Made sure I arrived and entered all destinations safely. I went there not blindly, but after long agonizing research. Reading reviews, travel websites, medical tourism forums, videos, and anything I could find. Tijuana area was cheapest for my travel plans, closest to the airport. Set to find a dentist there. Most seemed to be more superficial stuff, veneers, cleanings, and whitening or just didn’t have enough information I felt comfortable with. Needed major work and teeth made, plus my extreme fear and anxiety. The ASD website had the most beautiful false teeth I had seen on their website. Previously, I had contacted another dentist, but something about it didn’t feel right, and I contacted Advanced Smiles Dentistry (ASD) instead… and I’m here to say I am so glad I did. All the research I’ve done has shown me the nightmares people go through and the sometimes-horrendous prosthesis they end up with. I received the best treatment and most beautiful prosthesis. Dr. José Luis Metzler (D.D.S) created and brought a smile to my face that I am now not ashamed to show again. Back to my 2nd grader, all teeth full smile.

High-quality, well-done work in an ultra clean office. I needed major dental work - two fillings and two teeth implants, and even with very good insurance, the cost was prohibitive in the US. Advanced Smiles was recommended by my brother, who also got excellent work done here. Dr Narvaez did the initial cleaning and fillings. It was quick, painless and well-done. Dr. Manriquez did the tooth extraction, gum surgery and implant. The process, by nature, takes a few visits, but the wait is worth it. Surgery went well, I had minimal swelling, and all my questions between visits were answered quickly and thoroughly. Staff is extremely efficient and friendly. I typically receive responses to texts and emails within minutes.

They take some USA dental insurance plus you also can pay with a credit card if you want to! I will continue seeing this Dentist in fact ,I talked to her about implants fr a later date. Do not be scared of coming to Tijuana for any type of procedures , just as good or better and way cheaper than in the States , for example a crown for $500 a steal!

It hasn’t even been 24 hours since I visited Advanced Smiles Dentistry but I couldn’t wait to share what an incredible experience I had at this dental office. For years I have neglected my teeth and I knew I needed significant work done. I was initially drawn to come here by the affordability and the incredible reviews that I read online. And let me tell you 5 stars does not do this place justice. The level of care that I have experienced at this office is infinitely superior to anything I’ve had in the United States, where mind you I developed my fear of the dentist (due to severe malpractice by my childhood dentist). From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with kindness and warmth by the front staff. Then the dental assistants who took my X-rays were so gentle with me, constantly checking in if I was in pain from the individual X-rays they were doing which, I also couldn’t believe I suffered no discomfort from because this office utilises two people to do an X-ray so I almost never had to bite down with the hard plastic on my mouth. This office also had the top of the notch cray machine that I used prior to this, but because my level of work was so extensive, they wanted to be thorough and did the individual X-rays in addition to this. Then the doctor came in, introduced herself and I couldn’t have felt in better hands. She broke everything down that I needed done, and because I opted for an emergency type of situation, it was all done in the same day. I had an anaesthesiologist who put me in a twilight state who made me laugh and feel incredibly comfortable about undergoing FIVE whole hours of this. Very professional and efficient. I had 2 root canals and a crown done here for a third of the cost in San Diego (SD with insurance!). It was a 10 minute Uber ride once I crossed over the border. There was very little time spent waiting, and everything was explained well to me. Everyone is bilingual, and it appeared that almost all of their clientele were Americans taking advantage of their expertise. I will be recommending them to friends, especially those needing a root canal, it was painless!

Despite me having dental insurance in the states, I just don’t trust dentists or doctors here. Back in 2020, I decided to get veneers. I was quoted 15k-20k in the states. I got a set of 14 teeth top/bttm for under 15k. From the beginning to start, the customer service is by far top notch. You’re always skeptical of getting anything cosmetically done in another Country because you never know. Hi Everyone, I must say I was a little hesitant about going to Tijuana due to the negative press on the news. When I got there it was Nothing like I expected. The dental office is located in a very safe area and I felt very comfortable when I was there. The staff is very friendly and efficient. As soon as I arrived I filled out the paperwork and was off for X-rays. This visit I was treated by Dr. Ponce and Dr. Manriquez. These Doctors are extremely educated and keep you well informed and updated of your treatment plan. Dr. Ponce (Cosmetic Dentist) is awesome! She assessed and did a deep cleaning to my teeth, in which there was no pain at all. Cosmetically she recommended the best treatment for my teeth to give me that beautiful, healthy smile and which dental treatments were priority. I had to have three teeth pulled by Dr. Manriquez (Prosthodontist). I was scared knowing that I was going to get three teeth pulled because my teeth are not easy to remove. Dr. Manriquez did such an excellent job that I had no pain during the procedure and only minimal pain and swelling afterwards!! So I was still able to eat ?. The office staff is great they even got my medication from the pharmacy ❤️. I have honestly never had this type of treatment within the States. These guys were phenomenal. I haven't even been to a dentist this good in America. They are Very high-tech and clean. Everyone spoke perfect English no communication problems. They want the extra mile to make sure I got everything done, I needed to get done that day so I didn't have to come back soon and I had a lot of issues. I don't leave five star reviews lightly. It's totally worth it to make the trip down there for these guys and I don't like going down there. if you're not used to going down there give yourself some extra time to get there on time. I had a wonderful and seamless experience. The staff provided information to do the pedestrian walkway and I 10/10 recommend vs driving across the border (traffic was insane entering US, even on a Monday). Parking lot behind the jack n the box was $8, $12 on weekends, cash only. Once I walked across less than 10 minutes, I contacted them and they sent the Uber, about $3-4. My cellular service was spotty. Got to the facility, checked in, did CT scan and had the pleasure of having dra. Alejandra Ponce. She was very nice, informational and suggested a treatment plan that was easy to understand to achieve my dental goals. I was even able to listen to my music as dental visits heighten my anxiety, especially the drilling and the local anesthesia. The technology used for CT is better than what I’ve seen in US and I was impressed by the details. I have about 2 more sessions and I am eager and confident with having ASD provide services and I recommend to others!

State of the art facility in Tijuana. Having lived in Mexico a while now, I was looking for a facility that embraced the newer dental technology. My last dentist in Tijuana was good but their patient coordination and follow up methods left me looking elsewhere. Advanced Smiles is slightly more expensive (still much less than the US) but their dentists and staff are amazing, speak English, and are incredibly thorough. It was a great choice coming to them!

So far I was very happy about the very friendly and professional service by staff, dentists and dentist assistants. The atmosphere at the office is very positive and nice, which is important to me, undergoing often not so pleasant dental treatments. The evaluation, treatment plan and discussion about what needs to be done and in which order has been thorough. I was pleased that I was able to look at one problem tooth and its roots closely with the help of a panorama CT scan, as that tooth is very sensitive to cold, after being treated recently by another dentist in Santa Monica. The treatment so far has been a composit filling on one tooth with which I am very satisfied. And taking down a 18 year old beat-up crown and prepping that tooth, taking impressions and placing a contemporary. I am very curious for my next appointment, and how the actual new crown will look like and feel like and how the fit will be. THANK YOU ! (Obviously the prices here are much more affordable then at offices in Los Angeles' West Side).

I came here to have a regular dental implant done. It end up having to get an zygomatic implant(Dr. Aaron) wich is much more complicate, but I trust them since the begining. I had surgery for the implants a few trips and now all done. I am very satisfid with the results. A special thanks to Dr. Metzler who was responsible for the whole treatment plan. Advanced Smiles has been my dentist for about 4 years and I'll never go anywhere else! During the shutdown, I visited a local dentist and was given an estimate for around $15,000 of work, much of it unnecessary. I went back to Advance Smiles and , while I needed a root canal, the U.S. dentist had identified the wrong tooth. Advanced Smiles took care of my root canal immediately, as they can do everything in house, and have me a reasonable treatment plan for cleanings and some fillings. They handled all my husband's dental work (he's 76 years old) as well, again for reasonable prices without pushing painful unnecessary work. After several bad experiences with US dentists (mostly for pushing unnecessary root canals and other expensive treatments), I no longer trust them. At Advanced Smiles, you have an entire team of highly trained professionals that will carefully review your treatment plan and point out problems directly on the x-rays so you can actually see what they're talking about. They'll help you to arrange travel between the pedestrian border crossing by sending an Uber to pick you up if you need. I book my own Uber which is about $3 to $4 dollars before gratuity each way. I won't go to any other dentist and recommend Advanced Smiles to everyone!!

Background : I had root canals by student dentist when I was 18 to both from teeth. One incissor gre in crocked. After 20 of no teeth the gum and bone deteriorated, deformed and discolored. This is all important because this was a complicated and tedious job, not like whem they pull a tooth and put in implant in immediately. My Dr Juan Carlos is a cool dude and he's done his very best to fix smile. I'm gonna save you hours of racking your head and tell you this place is right. Just be SURE to be over zealous about knowing the procedure and healing times, hold overs on turn over time for veneers. This was a problem, caused me some headache.

I came all the way from Sacramento California to pay 3 times as much as would of gotten paid in the US.. shame on Mexico taking advantage I paid $400 for a X-ray and teeth cleaning!!! They had it written down I was gonna get all this laser teeth cleaning.. I got a basic cleaning I could have gotten for less than $100 . The process, scheduling, location, the support staff and dentists are amazing! My dentist used plenty of Vaseline during the process (which they never do elsewhere) let me rest my jaw often (that never happens), used numbing gel and applied a varnish for sensitive teeth at no extra charge (I’ve never been offered sensitivity varnish…like wth???) Dr. Alejandra Ponce was so thorough in her exam and even took photos just to help with a treatment explanation. She did a very extensive cleaning (deep gum scraping and polishing) and all this for $145! My BF is getting two crowns in three days for a third of the cost in California where we live.

This is a fantastic dentist. I swear to you my root canal was totally painless I don't know how they did it. I went back the next day for 5 fillings on my right side, and I thought they only worked on 1 but they seriously completed the whole side, even a front tooth... I somehow didn't even know they fixed 4 more teeth... Not to mention there are no sharp edges on my fillings and the floss moves right between them, they fit my teeth just right which has never happened before. Impeccable service and the friendliest of staff. My only warning is not to go anywhere else as my root canal was for a failed filling from the US. my round trip flight was 160 dollars, the border is slow around 10 am and took 15 minutes both ways. UPDATE: 1 month later, my crown fits perfectly, as well as my 13 fillings. update 3 years, all the work still holds, no cavities since :)

We are glad we got a second opinion, he could have charged us for the recommended treatment from our prior dentist but he didnt. I respect that. They did mess up the appointment schedule, but we're still able to fit us in. I would recommend calling before driving over from the States.

I had a significant amount of dental work performed by Dr. Alejandra Flores. All in 3 (THREE !!!) visits. Dr Alejandra is great, gentle, patient and works very efficiently. I am a huge chicken and they were a understanding and patient. All the office staff and assistants are amazing ! - courteous, professional, efficient, and really go above and beyond to accommodate the patient. And the price is also reasonable- the estimate I got in US was $21K and this dental office charged $7K - huge difference. It is also easy to get to from San Diego and plenty of hotels near by. Great experience and I would highly recommend Advanced Smiles Dentistry to anyone!!!

I was travelling in California for Thanksgiving and had a dental emergency. Finding a dentist in Los Angeles to treat me on the day after Thanksgiving proved impossible, but I was able to get a same-day appointment at Advanced Smiles Dentistry. They arranged an Uber pick-up for me at the border crossing in Tijuana, examined me, did a CT scan and X-rays, called in an endodontic specialist to perform a root canal retreatment, and prepared the tooth with a post, build-up, and temporary crown. This took multiple hours, and I was treated with kindness and professionalism throughout. I have not had any problems with the tooth since, and during follow-ups back in the US, both my primary dentist and my endodontist have praised the high quality of the work done at Advanced Smile Dentistry. And all this for a fraction of the cost the procedures would have been back home! I recommend them enthusiastically.

I had a deep root cleaning and the Dr. started by spraying my mouth with some numbing med and then she started injecting me all these shots to numb my mouth even more, to the point I couldn’t feel my nose and had trouble breathing I started to panic and asked her to Stop! She said she only had one shot left I told her NO I will deal with the pain when you start cleaning my mouth on that part of my mouth. When she got to that side I didn’t even feel any pain I was glad she has not continued w the last shot. I was so nervous I couldn’t calm down I interrupted her so many times during my cleaning.I apologized but I had never felt like that before she was very nice and she did calm me down and allowed me to stop her as much as I wanted. I know she was concerned and helped me out I fo have to say but that is what I experienced, but I will go back to continue my treatment , hope that is better visit!

The entire staff is friendly, professional and personable. The dentist is also very personable and even shares jokes. I had all my teeth extracted which he did all at once and it wasn't too painful. The dentures however are a big disappointment. I was assured I would be able to eat normally with my new dentures but I can't. After several adjustments I've given up on trying to get well fitted dentures. The fall off whenever I bite into anything with texture. Had the dentures been as promised I would give them 5 stars plus. Really like the people and the office is very clean as well.

I needed extensive work that I put off for 20 years because I didn’t trust a dentist to the work. I did my research in Tijuana, I went and consulted with about a dozen the top dental implant practices. It was clear many offices were motivated by profits and it was hard to trust. Thankfully I went to Advanced Smiles Dentistry and consulted wit Dr. Julian. He really took the time to assess my case, which is complicated. He explained options with pros and cons. He believes in having an ethical practice and it shows in the way they explain and give you options to chose your care. You will definitely be able to make your own decisions and feel supported. Staff is wonderful! He has very advanced technology for imaging and planning treatment. The prices are affordable without compromising on quality. This office really has it all. 20 minute drive from Chula Vista. Parking is tough, but there is some off street available for a few $. My first appt. arrived 10 min. early. Place was busy, but as soon as I filled out my forms I was off for x-rays, exam, evaluations and pictures. Every process was smooth from receptionists, to x-ray techs, assistants and my dentist, Dra. Cinthya Narvaez, she explained everything to me as she went and we developed a plan for the procedures I wanted.

Clean and professional staff. But the wait time is horrible. I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment and I didn't start my exam until an hour later. My time is valuable and punctuality is a must. Good facility if you don't mind sitting and waiting. I received a free consultation and xrays for the delay. I was in San Diego when I needed what turned out to be an emergency root canal operation. The Tijuana dentist with the best recommendations on Yelp was Advanced Smiles, so I jumped on the trolley and gave them a try. The care I received at Advanced Smiles was top-notch, in fact their facilities are more advanced than my regular dentist back home in Brooklyn. They performed my root canal quickly and I'd say painlessly (and I'm a big dentist sissy) at a fraction of the price it would cost me back home even with my insurance. In fact, when I realized I could not afford to complete my dental implants back home I returned to Advanced Smiles for those as well. I am totally satisfied with my implants especially since as I said, I could not have afforded the procedure back home leaving a massive problem. Crossing the border is zero problem and it's a quick (and inexpensive) cab ride from there to Advanced Smiles which is in the modern Zona Rio part of the city. You should leave extra time for crossing back to The USA but again this is no problem, especially if you bring your passport (bring your passport!). I wound up spending a few days in Tijuana while my implants were being fabricated, which I enjoyed -the restaurants are great and there are many nice hotels in all price categories. Of course you can always choose to just cross back to San Diego if you prefer. Advanced Smiles has a great front desk -friendly and extremely helpful. Well I've said enough, except when I need more dental work it will be worth it (and more fun) to fly out to San Diego, jump on the trolley to the border and have the work done at Advanced Smiles. I’ve been coming here for a couple years and have gotten teeth cleanings, fillings, bonding work (on front teeth I’ve had rebonded since I was a child and it’s the best bonding I’ve had) and actively working on two implants. Living in San Diego, it’s a no brainer coming here. Amazing staff, impeccable dentist and state of the art technology. He’s very professional and consulted with other specialist such as endodontist, periodontist etc. Very happy staff to make your day light from going to the dentist (if you know what I mean to all dental cowards) Walking distance (1 block) from Hotel Lucerna. The dental office has an agreement with the hotel for better rates. Plus a free shuttle ride to the clinic if you don’t want to walk. I gave 4 stars as I felt the estimate I was given was extremely HIGH. More than I wanted or could possibly budget for. More than I needed to have had done. I didn’t get options only what they felt I should have. When I asked for diff reasons why I couldn’t have this or that it was always no you need this vast care. Even in the USA the Drs never offered so much but the prices are high. As much as I really really liked this clinic and staff I will get a second or third opinion.

I went to Advanced Smiles Dentistry on the recommendation of a colleague after I shared an estimate from an LA area dentist with him. I made an appointment and went in for the consultation. I was very pleased with the options provided for treatment but even more so with their competitive prices that are just unheard of in the California. Their service is top of the line. The majority of the staff speaks English and are a pleasure to talk with. All dentists are very professional and honest and are not looking to see where they can take your money. Getting reimbursement from my US PPO insurance was aslo very easy to do on my own. I would certainly recommend anyone looking to have dental work done to check them out and I'm sure you'll be impressed as I've been. Getting there is very easy, simple walk across, call and Uber and get dropped off at their door.

Due to trauma, I had to get 3 teeth removed and a bone graft. Not only did they do an amazing job on the implants and bridge, but I can not say enough about their kindness. Everyone there is so nice, communicative, knowledgeable (including the front desk gals) and so compassionate. I would and have highly recommended them to others here in California who don’t want to spend an arm and a leg for dental care. It’s very safe (there are parking structures near by with attendants always there) even their covid protocol! Cant say enough good things! As high tech as the most high tech dentists’ offices in the U.S. And of course, affordable services as opposed to the U.S. I have a stellar dental insurance, but the annual max payout really puts a damper on any serious major dental work you might need. I drove here from NV and will do it again in a heartbeat! The cost: Even with a nice hotel, gas money, and room service, the total cost ends up around 35-40% of what the cost would be in the U.S. HIGHLY recommend!

I've been needing fillings work and a crown or two for >10 years now. Took a chance with the multitude of five star reviews with Advance and drove down from San Francisco amid the first wave of covid cases back in May to get a single temporary crown taken care of. We've had to reschedule the permanent crown and the rest of the work due to the second wave of covid cases this July. The first visit went well, but with reduced office hours those ladies were working hard to get their clients taken care of. They've stayed in touch with me re. the rescheduling and are working with me to get the rest of my work done in one office visit in August, despite the fact that there are two different dentists taking care of my work. I can only imagine what a logistics nightmare this virus mess is for their office, but they have been nothing but polite, professional, and quick to communicate changes. The exam, x-rays, one cavity filling (next to the temp crown locale) and a single temp crown during the initial visit were easy and quick. Total cost for that visit: $720 US. I've been quoted about that for the second visit that has probably five to six more fillings and a cleaning. Very much looking forward to completing it all in August. I'll update with a new review then. Update for August visit: Dr. Thelma Toledo took care of my permanent crown placement, and the remainder of the 11 fillings I needed done on my visit on August 20, 2020. She was my dentist during the first appointment as well. I wanted to give it at least a month before writing an update for the original post. She was meticulous about the fit and comfort of the new crown. She asked me over and over with a smile "Are you sure?" whenever she would shave it down a bit more to make sure I could chew without pressure or pain. She'd have me clamp down on the carbon film, take it out, ask me how it felt, ask me if I was sure?, and then after yet another of my "wellll..." she would listen to me, place the carbon paper over the tooth, and then the process would start all over. She made certain it was a perfect fit before moving on to the fillings. The fillings were a breeze to sit through, though it took the better part of four hours for my entire visit. There was some tenderness around the gum line of each filling after the Novocain wore off, but that only lasted about a week and was only noticeable during brushing. Second visit with 11 fillings and the temp crown removal with permanent crown placement: $570. All in all, no pain while eating, brushing or flossing, and no issues for this first month with any of the work she did. I'll update again in a year to gauge the long term a bit better.

I went with my son to Tijuana for his dental work. This office was wonderful, we could not have asked for a better experience. Andi, Dr. Jose' and all of the staff that we met were outstanding. If you're worried about traveling right now, you should know that Mexico is far more cautious than the US. Everyone wears a mask, even on the street. All places that you enter require you to step on a special mat to clean your shoes, and they always take your temperature. I recommend walking across the boarder, it was a breeze. You can take an Uber from the boarder, straight to the dental office ($3.00 USD). Definitely worth it for my son, excellent work and care for a fraction of the cost.

By far, Advanced Smiles Dentistry is the best dental office in Tijuana! They are professional, accommodating, and technology-driven. The doctors and staff would make your visit there a breeze, as they are friendly, bilingual, highly skilled! The office is easy to find, relaxing and spotless. You can get there by driving your car or by crossing the border walking. I have gotten there both ways. If you drive, there is public parking in front of the building and another at the end of the street. If you don't want to cross the border driving, you can park in San Ysidro (I parked last time at LAZ Parking) and cross from there. As soon as you're in Mexico, you can call the office, and they will order an Uber for you (you can pay the driver in USD, I think I paid around $3.00 + Tip) Even with insurance, dentistry pricing is astronomical in the US; I like that they have fair pricing and payment plans. Honestly, I only have good things to say about this dental office and the staff, I've been going to them for years now, and I highly recommend it! PS. They LOVE doughnuts, bring them some when you go!

I wish I can give this place 10 stars! I had an amazing experience getting my wisdom teeth extracted this coming from someone who FEARSSS going to the dentist. I was holding the pain for 2 days and I got referral by a friend that this office does professional, affordable and great job in Tijuana, so I decided to give them a try and get this pain outta my mouth haha. Front desk girls were very nice, able to find a emergency slot and got me a Uber to pick me at border. Dental assistant Melissa was also great helping me answering questions before the surgery. Oral surgeon Dr. Luis Cruz was able to make feel in a more comfortable environment even tho I was very nervous, long story short: It turned out to be very fast and amazingly painless. They lied and told my husband he needed his wisdom teeth removed to make more money when it was just a root canal, now we are paying a ton of money to have an emergency root canal done because whatever this shady place did to him during his “cleaning” gave him a bad infection!! Friends, this place appears to be the real deal, and the service you get from everybody at Advanced Smiles is over the top. And the $1,000s you will save is true! I did several days of research before choosing this dental facility, Advanced Smiles in TJ, and I even contacted a couple of the past dental patients personally before making the decision to choose this dental office, as we were very nervous about crossing the border to get dental work, even thou we have friends who go to TJ to get dental/medical. Its been 3 days since we visited this dental office, as I wanted time to settle in before posting our feedback, so let me tell you, if your looking for a fantastic place that will care about you, and treat you like a real human being, regardless of where you are from, and save you $1,000s, this is Advanced Smiles. And they speak English!!!!!!! From Dr Joseph Metzler, to all the girls/guys at Advanced Smiles, you are all true rockstars, and only wish here in the US, our clinics could seem to care as much as you all do. You all made us feel like part of the family, and our visit was just the best ever. We will continue to tell everybody about the fantastic care we got while at this dental facility, and others that we know who already come to Mexico for their Dental/Medical. We have found a dental facility that we honestly can say, we will continue to travel to for many years to come. * ** We have several upcoming visits for dental work for both the wife and myself, so we will update each of our visits along the way to keep everybody updated on progress.

I was a typical American, a little nervous about having quite a bit of dental work done in Mexico but I had read great reviews and decided to take a chance. I had gone to a local dentist to get an estimate for the work I needed and it was like going to a used car salesman and it was only to start. The price was ridiculous and unaffordable to pay all that up front. I decided to visit Advanced Smiles and made the trip from LA to Tijuana. When i got there, i found the office very nice and clean, the staff very helpful and friendly and my dentist Dr. Cecile Flores very friendly, capable and skilled. I had quite a bit of work to do that I had put off for a long time and they dealt with me in the most professional and helpful way.They worked with my budget to schedule payments that were comfortable. I have nothing but raves to say about the great service i received. I happen to be a professional trumpet player and am very sensitive about the dental care I was looking for.I can't say enough about the work they did and now i still drive there to get my teeth cleaned. I can't say enough about how much I appreciate everyone at Advanced Smiles Dentistry!

Best option available for my husband. As a Retired Navy Seal, health care through VA Administration does NOT cover Dental. Their prices are at least 75% less than in the USA, in comparison with Nevada. And they handle special needs and accomodations. Excellent service! I needed major restoration work and saved $39,000 over the quote I got in Encinitas. I'm paying only $11,000 when my other dentist told me I needed to have all my teeth pulled and replace them with implants and snap in dentures. At Advanced Smiles, I was told I could keep my bottom teeth! Now my mouth is almost done and people tell me my teeth look great! That price included tooth extraction, temporary denture, 6 implants, healing abutments, final abutments and lots of bone grafts. A long process to do it right but these folks are wonderful. They really listen to you concerns, I've had almost no pain and the results are more than wonderful. I took my 82 year old mom there for a root canal and she said there was no pain and told my brother she had a great time! Yes... A GREAT TIME getting a ROOT CANAL! Crazy, huh? Plus, they give a 10% discount!

Horrible place had two extra teeth extractions that took over an hour to take them out and worst part is that I got an infection they were not willing to take responsibility for. They basically told me go see another doctor! Why should I see another doctor when they gave me the infection in the first place. I payed almost 1,000 dollars for this procedure! I ended up going to a dentist here in California Where I live. Safe your money and your mouth. All they want is for you to pay! It’s not a sanitary place they do not use gloves when getting dental tools ready! Their DENTAL TOOLS are NOT STERILE. This place has many good reviews because it basically payed for them, by giving clients a huge discount if they gave a review. Don’t come here unless you want an infection.

My partial broke on a Friday night, I called the office Saturday morning and was told that there were no immediate openings however they could place me on the reserve list in case someone cancels. I received a call about an hour later telling me there is now an opening available for that Monday @ 10:40AM. Showed up and had my new partial by 5:30PM that same day! I cannot thank everyone here enough, from everyone at the front desk (cant remember there names sorry), one of which came outside to find me because I couldn't locate the office, to Dr. Julian and his assistant Karla! Traveling to Tijuana is safe, people are kind and going to Advanced Smiles Dentistry is a must if your looking for a high end dentistry office with a friendly staff. Is about a $4 cab ride from the border and I would highly recommend this place. I’m a blonde haired surfer from Calabasas which is the suburbs inland from Malibu. I don’t speak Spanish. The friendly staff all speak perfect English and every customer there are people from America. I have been there several times for work done and don’t generally give reviews this extensive but I want people to know that has been a wonderful experience for me. Painless, clean, state of the art equipment. Sitting in the chair you would think your in Beverly Hills or any other high end Dentistry office.

PLEASE DO NOT VISIT THIS FACILITY! I have had quality dental work in Tijuana before, but this was a nightmare. I went in to have both of my wisdom teeth removed. The oral surgeon cut open my gum on the wrong side (mind you my X-rays were on the screen in front of him). Then once I stopped him in fear of him drilling into the wrong tooth, he said, "I will explain after." Then proceeded to tell me there was a mix up that was communicated wrong by the dentist so he cut into the wrong gum. In addition I told him I was moving and he said he would put in the stitches that dissolved with no need to remove them. Turns out that was a lie. The stiches became infected and I had to have them cut out. And they still charged me full price and tried to make up by saying they didn't charge me the consultation! Please save your mouth and money and go elsewhere.

UPDATE WAIT TIME: No problem crossing the border, was actually faster than usual at 1030am wed 11/21. Don't be scared of the usual scare tactics by the media. However, if you're driving across, then yes, there looked like a significant wait, but not for walking across (either direction). Dental Adventure! Everything here is straightforward & actually easier to understand than what I’ve experienced in the States. They provide detailed printed info sheets showing whats what, where triage is necessary & what can wait. The staff has excellent communication skills & it’s really quick & easy to get to from LA. Just drive to the border, park at the outlet malls, cross the border & hop in an Über. I said to the Dr., “ Should I just get an implant rather than replace my crown?” She said,” No, a tooth is an organ. Its a part of your body & if I were you I would keep it as long as I can.” That is a very human thing to say, & I really appreciate it. My old metal fillings are gone & my crown is better than its ever been. They were kind enough to numb me out for the cleaning too because my teeth are unbearably sensitive.

EXCELLENT WORK!!! I have had some serious dentist phobia and refused to go to the dentists in the USA simply because i did not trust them from my past experience. I decided to try this clinic. The communication and organization was fantastic and i decided to make my way to Tijuana. I was treated by Dr. Larissa who went above and beyond to make sure that i was feeling comfortable and calm. She knew about my past experiences with dentists and she did something other than completely fixing my mouth (root canals, crowns, fillings), she ERASED the fear of dentists. As a person who would refuse to see a dentist, my mind is now changed. I will only go to Advanced Smiles Dentistry since they have my trust!!! I don't usually write reviews, but this is the least i can do as a "Thank You" to Dr. Larissa and the staff! P.S. The front desk girls are so nice, they ordered a taxi for me as needed and made sure that all of my questions were answered. Ok. I had been very bad and had not visited a dentist for a regular visit like one is supposed to for over 15 years. I came because I needed root canals, crowns, extractions, fillings, and have a DEFINITE phobia of dentistry. All my treatment took 4 visits. They were fabulous! Answered all my questions. Did deep cleaning. Did above listed procedures. (Ok, just needed one extraction thank goodness) Did not have periodontal disease as my u.s. dentist told me. Anesthesia is available, they knocked me out each time. My husband was beside me the entire time. He asked questions and everything was exlpained to him. Things feel great after final visit. Just love this place. They really understand my panic attacks, do great work, and take care of you well. I had no anxiety going into any of these appointments. I have found my home for major dental work. Truly, highly recommend!

I would like to shout from the rooftops what a great experience this office has provided. The office is clean and secure, the staff is not only friendly and professional but go above and beyond to be helpful, even suggesting places to eat and the best pharmacy close by. All of the staff speak fluent English and Spanish. They seem to have the latest technology , way better than our dentist back home, they are thorough and caring with their treatment plans focusing on health first. My between my husband and myself we are doing cleanings, root canals, crowns, fillings and implants, we can only afford to do everything needed because of the the low prices, less than half of what we would pay in the states.

I'm from Washington state and i was a little nervous about going down here and needless to say, I had a great trip, saved a lot of money. and had excellent work done. Ceila is very passionate about what she does, she works super fast and with super focus, she won't give up until everything is perfect!!! She also gives great recommendations for what to do in TJ as well as really good hugs. Sophia, the receptionist, was incredibly helpful in soothing my anxiety about everything and really made me feel taken care of. Once you hear her voice, you'll know what I'm talking about. The rest of the office was great as well. I interacted with so many people there that i cant remember their names. To me they almost felt like family. I had a root canal and a bunch of fillings done and by the end i was so emotionally and physically drained but I knew they had done a good job. Best dental care I've had. I thought there would be a problem with the language barrier but everyone in this office speaks perfect English. This has to be one of the friendliest businesses I have ever been too. I was kinda skeptical about coming down to Tijuana for dental work but after reading the reviews I figured it was worth a shot. When I arrived at the clinic I was immediately greeted by two ladies at the front desk that where all smiles and very polite. I filled out the standard paperwork for a first time visit then they took me next door to the other side of the clinic and was once again greeted by by another smiling lady. They then led me into where I would spend the next couple of hours getting my work done. The dentist came in just a few seconds after I sat down and introduced herself and we we began talking about what all was going on with my teeth. They took a few X-rays and then had look inside of my mouth. She then explained everything that she could see from the X-ray and told me what she thought I should have done and she gave me a detailed list of everything with the prices. That when the work began. I spent a total of 9 hours in the chair that day and not once did I feel any pain and everything that was done was explained to me before she started it and while the work was being done she explained what was going on. I have been to a few dentist and doctors in the US and I have never had anyone be so friendly and thorough about doing there work. When it comes to the price, with everything I have had done so far it still hasn't come to the cost of just one root canal and crown in the US and I had one root canal and crown and one crown done here along with a bunch of other work. It was such a pleasure coming here I have my brother and his wife coming from Canada to get work done along with other family members and friends.

Spend the day in Tijuana getting my front tooth fixed. Root canal, post/core, Zirconia crown. I'm happy as a clam can be. I can finally smile again. A Las Vegas dentist quoted me $2145 w/o insurance. Paid $720 and the work was done as good or better than any other dental work I have ever had done in the US. I was quoted $800 with 10% cash discount and that is what I paid. No up-selling. No extras. No taxes. Spend $80 on gas, $25 on parking on the US side, $5 plus tip on a cab ride, $3 for the best tacos I ever had. The temporary fits so well I can't even feel that I just had it all done. The whole experience was totally painless. The dentist Dr Larissa was super patient, gentle, and took her time to get it right. The entire staff was super nice. I now look forward to getting the rest of my teeth fixed. Well worth the long trip from Las Vegas.

5 Star service and 5 Star expertise, the entire crew is all about servicing the client. If you are concerned about going to a dentist in a foriegn country, don't be! I received better service, better work, and at a significantly lower price than in the US. Advance Smile's largest percentage of customers are from outside of Mexico. I was able to fly in to San Diego from San Francisco, get picked up from the airport, go to the dentist, fly back to San Francisco, all in one day and still have plenty of money left over.

First of all, I want to Thank All the Doctors and Staff at Advance Smile dentistry. I had called on Wednesday for an appointment to see a doctor, I was told the next available appointment was for next following week. I had mentioned I had a really bad toothache and wasn’t able to wait for the following week, the receptionist stated she was going to help me. She made it happen, the very next day I drove from LA to TJ to see a doctor. I had the very last appointment of the day. The reason I mention this is very important because, there closing hours are at 6pm. The staff stayed open after 7:30pm including several doctors assisting me to make sure I wasn’t in pain anymore. They went above and beyond their duties and helped me find a local hotel. They have a client for life

I had a great experience at this clinic. It took me a couple of mins to find because their office is in a big brown lawyers office. Their dental office is located on the first floor and the building is close to the corner. The staff was very professional & nice. They spoke pretty good english and explained everything well. I went in for a deep cleaning & teeth whitening. They where honest & trustworthy worry because I expected that I was in need of a deep cleaning but after the dentist examined my teeth, it turns out only a $80 regular cleaning was recommended. The teeth whitening was a take home kit which came out to $150. If you have extra money, just get the Zoom whitening. For the take home kit it takes 2 hours for them to make your mouth piece since it’s a mold of your teeth & waiting 2 hours is not fun. The take home kit is sort of a pain in the neck but that’s just my opinion. The office was nice and clean. They have state of the art equipment & the newest technology with the newest x-ray machines and all. Crossing the border was not an issue for me, especially since my appointment was early in the morning & on a Monday. I parked my car right next to the Jack in the Box & there was no line to park because usually there is, this was at 8AM by the way. Walking across the border was a breeze, especially since when I crossed into the Mexican Customs area my wait was only 1 min, usually there’s a line but there was nobody really crossing at 8AM plus it was a Monday. I would recommend this clinic to any of my friends & family, the service is great and so are the prices. Just make sure if you are crossing on foot, to have the address, name of clinic and phone number so that the taxi can get you there with out any issues. It’s pretty close to San Ysidor border crossing.

This place is legit. Having been to a LOT of dentists in my life, I was blown away by the professionalism and skill level of the dentists and dental assistants here. A large clean workspace with state of the art equipment. Parking is tight though, but they are pay lots nearby, or just Uber from the border.

First, I want to thank the staff for being so nice to me and my wife, and for taking such good care of me. My exam showed I needed a root canal and crown. About an hour after the exam, they were ready to start. The process was practically painless and I was very impressed with the meticulous attention to detail and the advanced technology they used. I was also impressed with the teamwork. At different stages of the process, specialists stepped in to take over. At the end of the day, I had a perfectly fitted temporary crown. Next week I look forward to getting the permanent crown with every confidence that it too will be perfect.

I could see the calculator ticking. Come to find out it is part of the free consultation. Then I was ready for the upsell when they said we would discuss a treatment plan. Creepiest set of people. People ordering food and talking loudly while patients wait for hours. It was a waste of my time. Waited for almost 2 hours. When I stood up to leave, a couple of dentists came and started asking me about my job, where I came from etc. Mind you I had flown a zillion hours to get there! One lady had been there since 930am.I left at abouy 340pm without being seen. Thank God I called the dentist I saw last time and they booked me immediately. While there, the "periondontist" I had to see, picked up her bag and left for the day. This place a big joke. Most of the reviews are done by staff.

It's a clean and modern clinic with great equipment. Doctors are knowledgeable and friendly; and so are everyone else working. Roberto is a cool manager. He picks up the patients coming from the states at the border upon request. Perhaps, most importantly, they don't try to rip you off like the dentists in the states.

I can't say enough great things about my experience at Advanced Smiles Dentistry. Overall the team are very welcoming, patient, and really care about your (the patient's) comfort. I have to admit I was apprehensive about traveling to Tijuana and going to the dentist. However, Roberto, the Clinic Manager was not only responsive via email and phone prior to my first appointment but he picked me up (and dropped me off) at the border which really decreased any anxieties I had. Dr. Julian is a consummate professional. I don't think I've ever had a dentist that was equally down to earth and relatable while also being completely knowledgeable about his craft. And I do mean craft. He took pride in ensuring I was comfortable and that the crowns I received fit nicely (and looked nice!) when they were placed. So, if you ask me if I will travel from San Francisco to Tijuana just to visit the dentist, my answer is hell yes. As long as I can see Dr. Julian and his team.

Wow! This great place is amazing if you need some dental work. I had crown veneers and 3 implants. I came to Tijuana because I have high levels of anxiety and allergic to the anesthetics they use so it was very hard to find a dentist that would take me in and it was outrageous price. I came her where they greeted me like family. They take extreme good care of patients and they listen. They use the highest quality technology and a great price. You will not regret coming here. Number one choice, they go above and beyond!

The office is close to the border, quick and easy to get to. The office is in a very nice plaza, new modern decor, everyone is super helpful and friendly, they try hard to make you feel welcome. The doctors tell you what they are doing every step of the way, and aren't too pushy. We'll come back again.

This place was awesome. I had some major cosmetic work done and it turned out fantastic. Eight crowns later I have a a brand new look. This was a very extensive and time consuming process and they did everything to keep me.comdortable throughout the process.very professional experienced staff. I've been in enough dental chairs to know. I appreciate the 619 American area code phone number to call and they keep available 24 hours a day. It's easy to find if you choose to drive with parking right across the street. Highly recommend them and they will even pick you up from the border crossing if you like.

Roberto picked us up from the border and brought us to the clinic where they started on x rays for both my husband and I after the x rays they came up with our treatment plans and began right away I had six teeth extracted and partials made and my husband had 3 extracted and a crown replaced. Every single person working there are incredibly nice and work very well together. Very Good Work. My brother in law and I had some work done at Advanced Smiles Dentistry. Nice facilities (honestly, the nicest I've seen online, as well as in person), professional & capable dentists, quality work, etc. The only thing I would ask they do a better job at, would be to be hyper-obsessive at cleanliness. I don't want to give the impression that the facilities, tools, or people weren't clean... Because overall they were "clean" (lets say 95% on my scale). However, the customer should have zero doubt in their minds about the cleanliness of the place, so that they wouldn't have to wonder if the tool handles were cleaned properly before I sat down. I like it when they apply a new sticky plastic surface (it is like a wide piece of tape) to cover the utensils. Hopefully this will be shared with them. Would I go back? Yes, absolutely. The worst part of my trip was the line to get back into the USA.

Dr, Julian and all the staff were so friendly and professional. They took great care of me and at a price I could afford. Roberto will pick you up at the border and take you back when you are finished. I will be going back for regular cleanings.

I couldn't be happier with my dental experience at Advanced Smiles Dentistry. I've needed implants for a few years but I had been putting it off because of how much it costs in U.S. I did some research on dental tourism and found Advanced Smiles Dentistry in Tijuana. I just had 3 implants placed and it cost a third of what I had been quoted from my U.S. dentist. I also would like to state just because it's cheaper doesn't mean the implants lacked in quality..... they turned out very nice. Advanced Smiles are a group of young professionals that are up on the latest procedures and are very skilled. Dr.Julian De Anda Sevilla and his staff are all English speaking and kept me informed throughout the whole process. Roberto has been my coordinator from day one. He picks you up at the border and will answer any questions before and after your visit. I am very happy with my experience and plan on returning in a few months to finish some other dental work that I had originally planned to have done in U.S. Two thumbs up...... I recommend.

I live in San Diego and it is SO much more cost effective to take a trip down to Advanced Smiles every 6 months for my cleaning. My husband had to have quite a bit of work done that would have cost thousands in the US and only cost us about $800. We always get great customer service and the staff at Advanced Smiles has even picked us up at the border to make things easier for us. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a great dentist for an amazing price.

The entire staff is very welcoming and professional. They have great prices and specials! They made me feel very comfortable and didn't try to sell me anything other than what I needed. They were able to explain in detail my x-rays and there were no hidden costs. They pick you up and drop you off from the border and the quality of their work is phenomenal. I previously had a crown done in the valley and it was such a shoddy job. Another dentist in the valley who did my root canal didn't mention that I needed a filing in the tooth right next to it! The dentists in the states have such low quality work and customer service. I had a filing and a crown and I will most certainly only use them. They are worth the drive, they treat you like family!

If you go 2 any other dentist in TJ or San Diego you are making a mistake!! I have lived in San Diego for 37 years and I have never had such a wonderful experience @ a dentists office in my life. Yes I used wonderful & dentists in the same sentence :-) From the very beginning of my interest in dental work the office manager, Roberto Vargas, contacted me. He was not over bearing or trying to sell me anything, he genuinely only cared about helping me. He didn't try to pressure me to come in, or commit me to anything. I have been a customer service professional for 20 years and I was so impressed by Roberts customer service I knew I had found a great place. When I arrived @ the office all the staff was polite and courteous, offering me water and even offered me food because I arrived an hour early :) lol my fault. My dentist was Dr.Julian & he explained everything to me in a very professional & friendly way. He was extremely patient with me & did not try to rush me or sell me any service, he just cared about what I wanted to do & the outcome I wanted....a #beautifulsmile :-) I am sooooo happy with their work, I feel like I can smile again without the worry of my teeth looking bad. The whole experience was painless I had 11 crowns and multiple fillings.. I also had an eight-piece Bridge basically total reconstruction it looks better then the original teeth ever did. I had one crown dr. Julien wasn't happy with so he had them remake it. I personally would have never noticed some small imperfection but he pays attention to all the little details so the work will last. All the staff is very friendly it was extremely affordable compared to the states. And we made new friends. I would truly recommend Advanced Smile Dentistry to family and friends.

A couple of months ago I start my treatment at the Advanced Smile Dentistry clinic, everything was excellent since the biggining starting with the customer service, someone is always picking the phone to adjust any of my appointments, then every time that I get there, first of all the location of the clinic is a very convenient area of city. Well moving forward with the treatment I'm very happy to say that I choose excellence, I have a brand new smile which I'm very proud to show, and also I have no words to describe the excellent job that Dr. De Anda and his team of specialist does for each of their pacients, making feel someone comfortable at a dentist office is not an easy job and all this team of amazing doctors makes you feel like you are more than a patient.. I've had the best experience at this clinic with Dr Alexandra who does seamless work and thouroughly explains all the procedures always aiming at best results but with honesty. I had a bit of trouble getting my insurance claim filled but eventually had Liz get it all sorted out for me.
