It’s so upsetting that you schedule an appointment and you verify everything over the phone they confirm everything and then the day of your appointment oh sorry nope we don’t take your insurance so everything is out of pocket. I drive an hour away just to come here because they were able to squeeze me in all for nothing. I won’t be back to any of these locations at all. Thanks for nothing making me waste me time

i came here for root canal they did root canal but during the process they broke the canal after spending 1500 for root canal and 500 for crown now i need to pay another 300 to take out the tooth because doctor Miguel fid not properly root canal i don’t recommend here.

I went into the dental office for a C.B.C.T. scan. I was assisted by Socorro and seen by Dr. Martinez. Dr. Martinez reviewed the scan and was professional, easy to talk with and a straight shooter- he did not try to push unnecessary procedures on me. That day and before the scan, I was told how much it would cost me and what My dental insurance would pay. I paid my part that day. About two months later, I was charged additional money by the dental office. I called and Socorro informed me that my insurance declined part of the claim even though an insurance representative previously agreed to pay all their part during a recorded phone call. I complained to Socorro and my insurance. Socorro contacted my insurance carrier and she filed an appeal. After months, my insurance reluctantly paid about half of the outstanding amount owed. Many thanks to Socorro for going the extra mile!

I was referred to Dr Martinez by my regular dentist after I had a molar get infected. He and his staff were great; polite and friendly and the ambiance of the office was really nice: soft, warm, low lighting in the hallways and lots of nicely diffused natural light. I mention this because I have terrible dental anxiety and the ambiance of the office and the friendliness of the staff really helped put me at ease. After a scan made it clear that the tooth wouldn’t be able to be saved, Dr Martinez laid out the process of pulling the tooth, turned up the Latin music, numbed my mouth up and got that tooth out of there in what seemed like less than a minute and it was over before I even realized that it had been pulled out. Going to the dentist office usually always really freaks me out but Dr Martinez and his staff really helped put me at ease at a time I was in severe pain and super stressed.

The worst place I have ever been. I only went to ask how much would my treatment cost. They charged me for hundreds of dollars with their scans which I didn’t even want to. Also, they said this portion will be covered by the insurance and they have confirmed that, but a month later they sent me another invoice stating that the insurance did not cover some of the evaluation and charged me again. I just don’t recommend you to go waste your money, go somewhere where you can get things done right and cheaper.

Was charged $400 and when I got my explanation of benefits from my insurance it was only $49. Dental insurance already is horrible in Texas but to have companies that upcharge for "special" X-rays and then want ridiculous prices for root canal but won't even split payments in two without requiring you to run your credit is ridiculous. Reconsider going this office as they lack thoroughness and price transparency. I came to the office as a referral, I asked the receptionist who greeted me and took my information what my co-pay was for my exam. I was told that they wouldn't preform any services until I was given this information. After about 20 minutes of waiting , I got called to the back and after my exam was completed they hit me with an $245.00 bill. They failed to get an authorization of insurance prior to providing an exam and ripped me off. Save yourself the trouble and find a more transparent provider!

Of course my blood pressure was up upon arrival but when I walked in and was greeted by Elizabeth I immediately felt better. Another came and got me and took me to the back. She talked to me all the way down the hall and explained everything she was going to do before doing it. Dr. Martinez came in after X-rays to introduce himself and I knew I was in good hands. I had Sam and Dr. Martinez on my care team. I informed them of my severe anxiety, and they took the best care. They were warm, kind, and knowledgeable. There was never a moment I didn’t know what was happening. They were very attentive to how I was feeling and made adjustments as needed. Sam was even able to distract me from having a panic attack early on. Once I was fully numbed, it was smooth sailing. The whole procedure took maybe 40 minutes and just flew by! I will definitely be coming back if I ever need more work done!

I recently took my 9-year-old son to Essential Endodontics for a root canal. Our Dentist Dr. Yelton and Dr. Misra, anesthesiologist, were both amazing. They had excellent bedside manner and were very empathetic towards my son's dental trauma. Dr. Yelton did a great job explaining the root canal procedure and aftercare, and Dr. Misra spent a lot of time with us, explaining the process of putting my son under anesthesia and hooking him up to an IV. He was patient and understanding, and he made my son feel comfortable and relaxed. During the procedure, Dr. Misra stayed with my son throughout the entire time, monitoring his vitals and making sure he was comfortable. Overall, I highly recommend Essential Endodontics to anyone looking for a dental work. They were professional, caring, and knowledgeable, and they made the entire root canal process as easy and stress-free as possible for my family.

Dr Martinez did a fantastic procedure of a root canal on tooth #8, agreed on a pharmacy to pick up prescription; however, was redirected to a totally different pharmacy. When I called the office to ask why, they stated “there was a hold”. Deal breaker,.. will not be returning to do business.

I went in for a root canal. I have always had bad experiences with dental work and had a very bad experience with a root canal. Dr. Martinez was so amazing made me feel welcome safe and made it a very great experience. Sam and the other assistants were super helpful. I will be coming back if I ever need work again.

If I could put zero I would. My husband had surgery here over year ago. I am not complaining about the service but about the office staff and customer service. When I received the bill for his services, I went onto their portal and entered my payment. However they supposedly never received the payment, even though I sent them a screen shot of the payment. As a matter of fact, one of the employees said that the payment feature has never worked. Then why have it as an option? To this day, they cannot tell me where my payment information went and in this day in age that is a huge red flag!

This was the easiest root canal I have ever had done! Dr. Martinez was absolutely amazing… Not only was he fast there was no pain and I will say it was even comfortable throughout the procedure… He made me feel very relaxed.... in fact, the dental chair even has a back massager. I was lied to. I was told at the time I made the appointment I was in network. At checkout time I was told I was out of network. The Dr had to be shown how to work one of the equipment by another Dr in the middle of my root canal. Very rude and dismissive office manager as well. FIND ANOTHER ENDODONTICS PLACE.

I recently had a root canal done. I was terrified. The entire staff did everything possible to make me comfortable. The process from walking in the door to leaving the office was very smooth. I was looking for an Endodontics Dentist and most offices only have one that comes once a month and definitely not trying to be on a wait list. Some I called even said I had to pay $250 just for a consultation. I found this place and had a wonderful experience. Dental work makes me very very very nervous and anxious but Dr. Martinez and his staff made me feel comfortable and relaxed. He is a fast working Doctor and very knowledgeable. We talked and had some laughs, truly a very nice Doctor. I always get nervous that Dentist will do unnecessary work just for the money but I don’t feel that was the case here. I did not need a “re do” root canal I needed another type of surgery that was done that same day. All was done within 30-40 min. Came back today for my check up to see how it was healing and another great experience here. I would recommend this place to my family/friends if they are in need of an Endo Doc. ??

My general dentist referred me for sensitivity and pain after a root canal. Dr. Yelton worked me into his schedule and was able to remove the remaining nerve from my tooth that had calcified canals and curved roots. I am very grateful that I can get back to life with no mouth pain. Any endo work I need going forward will be done by him. The music was relaxing because I was distracted enough that I wasn't thinking about what was going on in my mouth.

After getting a high quote from an out of network Endodontic office I went to our insurance page and found this office that is in network. Appointment was given and we thought we were set. I get a call from my husband saying this doctor is now double what the out od network was. I was so confused because I have had a few root canal done and none of what he was telling me made sense. After calling our Dentist office we understood why, they decide to take another Scan (one allowed per year per the insurance) they now if thwy repeat it will have to come out of pocket. Completely unnecessary since the dentist sent them the ones they originally took. The other charge was calcification ( because he’s over 40) once again someting not necessary. Doctor then ask the patient what he does for a living and rhat he will never tell him how to do his job. When you are trying to scam someone into paying unnecessary charges you need to remember we can choose another doctor. Appointment was for 8am by 11 am still nothing was done. Appointment was cancelled because what’s the point of giving business to a doctor that clearly wants to take advantage of patients. Hopefully this helps other patients and they double check their charges

The office environment is a bit unconventional, however the treatment was great. I went for a root canal (I’ve had 2 others) and this was by far the best experience I’ve had! I expected pain afterwards (sore gums, injection site etc) but I had literally no pain. I will definitely go back if I need this done again!

Great experience! Just had a root canal, which is never a fun experience but everyone from was professional, courteous, and highly proficient. His assistant Samantha was as sweet as could be and so caring. Dr. Yelton is awesome! Great singer too! Thanks for the great musical performance Dr!! He explains everything ahead of time and along the way so that you know what is happening. He is friendly and thorough. Loves to sing to the music playing overhead which helps takes your mind off of the procedure. I hate needles and he made that part less stressful which was most appreciated. Gives you pain meds prior to procedure so they have time to kick in before you’re done. That’s a nice plus for when you leave. No leaving waiting for your Tylenol or ibuprofen to start working. I HIGHLY recommend this office for endodontic care. You can’t feel the needle application AT ALL!! Absolute miracle!! Previous reviews may mention that the costs are high but you get what you pay for and Dr Yelton and the care he gives are top notch! SO worth it!!

Hands down the best experience I’ve ever had at a Dental appointment! Took the time to properly identify issues and options, handled all paperwork/insurance aspects. Very careful yet thorough with procedure. Polite, professional from Fabi at the front desk to Amanda the amazing Assistant, and Dr Yelton who is absolutely awesome. The atmosphere he creates is unmatched. He explains everything along the way, insures your level of comfort, and has a fantastic playlist of music playing throughout the offices complete with his singing during the procedure! All of my copayment and insurance verification was completed and ready to roll when I walked into my appointment. To preface, I have anxiety, and am an absolute baby about oral pain. I have had a LOT of work done on my teeth over the years, and for most of it I would have headphones on with music blasting, and/gas or sedation to help calm me. I was horrified when I learned I needed a root canal, which I've heard nothing but aweful things about. Lucky for me, I was referred to Dr. Alex Fitzhugh. I was a nervous wreck and Dr. Fitzhugh and Amanda helped to calm me. I did not need gas or blaring music. The doc's singing kept me distracted as they numbed me, and entertained me through the entire procedure. I didn't feel a thing once they really got to work, and it was, overall, an oddly relaxing experience. And recovery has been great! No pain prescriptions needed. I almost completely stopped taking any tylenol or Ibuprofen by the next day. Either everyone has been lying to me about root canals for decades, or Dr. Fitzhugh and team are actually wizards ? Amazing experience overall. I can't thank the staff enough for the great care they provided me. ♡

Dr.Malagise & staff were fantastic. I was very nervous about having a root canal.(I had a bad experience 25 years ago) I could not identify where the pain was really coming from but the Doctor was able to identify which tooth was causing the pain . (I was glad they had the 3-D x-ray) . The tooth that was having the problem was a surprise. Dr. and staff were very compassionate and he made sure that I was not in pain , which I really appreciate. During the procedure , if I even groaned a little, he stopped and gave me more medication to make sure that I would not be in pain. Then he ordered medication after the root canal. I know route canals are one of their specialties , I certainly could tell that the Doctor was very confident , knowledgeable and skilled. (he did the whole procedure looking into a microscope -very thorough.) The staff was so kind and helpful . I would highly recommend essential endodontics . I am so thankful that is where I went and was taken care of!

I am terrified of the dentist but I didn’t feel a thing! I would give the Dr. 5 stars and the front office receptionist 3-4 stars. My appointment was rescheduled a few times; however, after rescheduling the third time, they reached out the day of my appointment with a cancellation so I was able to go in earlier. I had my procedure on my second visit and the receptionist was great but on my first visit the receptionist seemed to rush and was less caring, she was only concerned with my credit card. When I inquired about my $710 bill, I was told that “teeth are unpredictable” in a sarcastic way. Overall, the Doctor was fantastic!

I was referred to Essential Endodontics by my dentist for a second opinion regarding a root canal I was told I need by Mint Denistry (Mint wanted to perform the root canal the day I went in for a cleaning & exam) after reviewing my ct scan and doing an exam Dr Yelton told me that is job is to save teeth whenever possible, but based on my circumstances he would recommend that I have the tooth extracted and an implant. He did this at cost of losing money, but knowing that the long term success rate for the root canal was low. Thankful he cared about the long term vs the financial side of the equation. Mint was really to do a root canal that probably would not have offered a long term solution. Dr Yelton, the staff and the facility were great, strongly recommend Essential Endodontics!

I was very impressed with this office and the services they provide! I came in as an emergency tooth ache appointment, unsure if anything would be able to be done to help my pain before the holiday! Doctor Yelton and his staff were very concerned and made sure to work me in so I could have same day treatment! Also to make things more complicated I’m 31 weeks pregnant! We couldn’t use the normal anesthetic, and I was a little worried it would be super painful the entire time! I was prepared to just suck it up, but I was pleasantly surprised that the doctor and his assistant were very on top of pain management. They gave me Tylenol before we started, numbed my mouth, and both of them were regularly asking me if I was doing ok and if I could feel anything. The doctor sang the whole time, and it was a super fun distraction! Definitely not your stereotypical root canal story/experience! I actually enjoyed myself! I had a comfy blanket and a free concert! Also I left with a coupon thing for a free nothing Bundt cake! Oh, and this morning Amanda called me to see how I’m feeling, and remind me that if I’m having any problems not to hesitate to call!! Great Dentist, wonderful staff, excellent experience! I’m a huge believer in specialist, and this is why! Don’t have a general dentist spend 2 hours killing your mouth when you can have a specialist do a better job in less time with less pain!!

I was very anxious about having a root canal done but the tooth pain drove me to get it done. Thankfully Dr Yelton’s office got me an appointment the very next morning. The staff is very gracious and super nice. Dr Yelton was so good at relieving my anxiety and I have to say this was the easiest, most pain free root canal I have ever had done! He cranks up the music and sings while he works ? if I ever have to have another root canal done it will definitely be with Essential Endodontics! Great office staff!

Ok. There is no reason that you should have a bad experience here. Dr.Yelton was so kind. Adorable singing and music. The staff was very nice and graceful. The broke everything down as far as charges. (People think that insurance covers everything. Those people need to wake up. I've had all kinds of insurance and it's rare that they will cover 100% specially for root canals.) This is the place to go from now on.Dr. Yelton is bilingual too. I loved it there. They check on you the next day and make sure you have meds too. ♡

Great experience! Nobody says that about going to the dentist but I really had a great time thanks to the staff. They all make you feel welcome and relaxed, answer all your questions, explain everything in detail, and have everything running smoothly. Especially Sirena, who took cake of me most of the time, was exceptionally thoughtful, caring, and professional. Dr. Yelton fixed my root canal I had already done twice improperly! They were able to accommodate me quickly and provide extensive information what to do after the procedure. I would definitely recommend it to anyone needing a great endodontist!

Referred by my dentist for suspicious findings on an X-ray. Got in the same day - wow! Did indeed need a root canal. Dr Yelton is so passionate, confident & expert in his practice, I was very impressed. Was my 2nd root canal ever. Staff was so friendly & explanatory as was Doc. Drilled thru my present crown, NO problems. The whole experience was as good as I’ve ever had in a dental chair & NO pain at all & it’s been a week. AmaZing! Enjoyed his playlist & singing also. Helped my nervousness dissolve. Definitely recommend!

I had 1 root canal done and it was the worst experience. First after receiving my numbing injections the dentist didn't allow time for the injections to take affect. He started drilling I jumped he asked "something wrong?" I said yes i feel that! Also the dentist pushed down so hard on my jaw the insert to keep your mouth open loosen my tooth on the opposite side the dentist was working on, also the dentist was pressing down on my head and face the entire time he was working on my tooth. And the loud music playing in the office to which he asked to turn up louder. After all the loud singing I couldn't hear any questions that were being asked or after care information that was given. On top of all that. I called prior to my appointment to find out $$$ the front desk girl said your insurance will pay 100% you own nothing. After I agreed to have the procedure done and I was prep. The girl comes in stated you owe $300.00 in May 2018. Today I get a phone you owe a balance of $160.00. I'm very ????. I will never go to this office again.....

I had a wonderful experience at this office. The staff was great and Dr. Yelton was amazing. I was so nervous before going to the office for a root canal, but dr. Yelton and his staff got me through the treatment with almost no pain. I got distracted while he was working on my tooth by music and him singing. I will definitely recommend him to family and friends.

This is the second root canal Dr. Yelton has done for me. He is the best at root canals. He explains the procedure and the reason for it prior to starting and also ask if I had any questions for him. Throughout the procedure he checked with me to be sure I was doing alright. I enjoyed Dr. Yelton’s singing as he worked. It helped me relax. The staff is very friendly and informative.

I had an awsome experience today with Dr. Yelton and staff at Essential Endodontics. I was referred to him by my general dentist. From my intial appointment to the day of my treatment the Dr and staff were very professional and courteous. I did not feel a thing. He continued to check with me during the procedure to make sure I was comfortable. He has a nice playlist and good singer as well. I highly recommend the Hulen office for your endodontic needs.

I had been putting off getting a root canal. Having never had one all I could think of was how bad all the stories were. So by the time I called to make an appointment I was in I was having constant tooth pain. I went in the next morning and was very impressed with the overall experience. The staff were friendly and the check-in process went quickly. Every step was explained and went from X-rays to the procedure quickly. Dr. Yelton made fast easy work of two root canals and had me back home before I knew it. The best part was having no pain during the process. Some discomfort from having my mouth open, but nothing a little Tylenol couldn't handle. I hope never to need another root canal, but I know where I'll go if I do.

We all hate going to the dentist especially for things like root canals but the Dentist assistants, the front Desk associate Jessica and Dr.Martinez made a painful experience not only bearable but enjoyable. Jessica help me apply for Carecredit ( something I never thought I’d get approved for and I did) Dr.Martinez went above and beyond to make sure we were working on the correct tooth because it was a little complicated. I left there feeling so much better and confident that the work had been done properly. This place was amazing from the professionalism to the quality of care. They were gracious enough to squeeze me in with no appointment and treat me extremely well. I hope I don’t need these services again but if I do this is where I’m coming! 10 out 10 definitely recommend!
