I called to schedule a regular cleaning with this office, and I clearly mentioned that was the main reason for my visit. On the day of the appointment, they did some X-rays and checked my gums, and they came back with an estimate for a deep cleaning and two fillings. After that I was waiting to get the regular cleaning, and they told me no, and I will have to schedule an appointment for the deep cleaning and filling instead. I did not like that they did not do what I was here for. This is my second bad experience at this office. The first one was the most painful deep cleaning I ever had. I do not recommend this office. I give them two stars because the staff was polite.

They will ask to contact the dental office for negative reviews but they wont respond properly. While I tried to reconcile, they were rude and did not give me an opportunity to talk. Further, they told me I can no longer have further visits (even after I was willing to pay the fee) and they removed me from schedule. I feel I am being discriminated against and treated unfairly. It is unfortunate to handle their profane talks and verbal abuses as well as discrimination.

RUN,RUN, RUN, if you want good dental care!!!!!!! Anywhere but here. Scammers, who are extremely incompetent at billing insurance and money hungry. Will say you are in network, then recommend all of this treatment, provide substandard dental care and then charge you 3 times the normal rate!!! Unbelievable staff turnover, and after they destroy your teeth they want to refer you to specialists and say I don't understand why you are in pain or why this is happening. One of the locations isn't even open anymore-thank goodness. Reported this shoddy organization to the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners to review their dental care practices, billing practices to include lack of price transparency. Destroying the dental lives of North Carolinians' one tooth at a time. If there was an option for negative stars I would give it.

Excellent practice! It was my first time seeing Dr. Kioko, and I was impressed by his attention to detail and thorough, yet gentle touch during my cleaning. He has a great "bedside" manner as well (not sure if that's the appropriate term in the dental realm, but here we are ?). Joy is also a fabulous hygienist, and the ladies who greeted me at the front desk (I'm kicking myself for not asking for their names now!) were lovely and did an excellent job explaining some recent changes to my dental insurance plan that are, in a word, annoying. They were prepared with the requisite paperwork regarding financials and walked me through step by step. Thank you all, and I promise not to wait so long between cleanings next time! ?

I've been coming to this office for about 3 years. Love the Dentist great Dr. But did not appreciate that on my first visit of the year for a cleaning they try to charge me a co-pay of 195. Dollars my insurance covers 2 annual cleanings,xrays and any basic issues so I found that kind of strange they tried to charge me that money.

Hands down the best cleaning I've had in years!! I was looking forward to this visit as I was just looking at my teeth a few days ago and regretting my choice to start drinking hot green tea during the pandemic. For the first time ever, I was polished first. And not the 45 seconds and you're done polish. This was an intense, deep polish. She then moved on to the cleaning, a little uncomfortable, but worth it. I have been running my tongue across my teeth all day. I even put off eating because my teeth were so clean. They are gleaming, and not a stain in sight. I've been a dental patient for many years and have never been disappointed with my care, but I am beyond pleased with today's visit. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of my hygienist, but I hope to have her again next visit. Very nice office, very clean, very friendly staff and Dr. Taj is great. I actually look forward to my visits.

I visited this office on 12/4/2023 and my experience was great as always! I’ve been coming to this dentistry for about 5 years and they always make me feel comfortable. This past visit, I had an insurance change and Lindsey and Nicole helped me through the whole process answering all of my questions via text up until the day of my appointment. I like how you can text them and they send reminders about your appointments. Sajitha was my dental assistant and she’s ALWAYS helpful and has no problem providing me with solutions to all of my issues. I would surely reccomend this dentist office to anyone looking for reliable and committed care.

I wish I could give stars for the warmth of Dr. Haynes and the staff, which make it very hard to write this review. Dr. Haynes has a great chair side manner. Unfortunately that can’t make up for some of the issues we have experienced. During my first root canal there, I was told that a drill tip broke off in the canal and was left there. Less than six months later, this crown developed a hole and then broke off entirely. When I went in to get it fixed, the hygienist kept forcibly trying to push the crown on even though I told her she was hurting me. She kept dropping it in my mouth and dragging it against my tongue and cheeks to fish it out, and then when she couldn’t make it fit, tried to find a place in the other side of my mouth to put it (yes I know this sounds nonsensical- it was.) This same hygienist put on fresh gloves then touched her ears and hair. My exposed root canal was not hurting badly before I went in, but they insisted on putting the broken crown back on temporarily, with the hole. My mouth was throbbing for days until the crown broke off again and it was, of course, full of old food despite me working hard to keep the hole clean. There’s a gash in my gum from where the broken crown was forced on. I also left the office with tooth cement stuck to my face and was fishing sharp shards of cement out of my mouth for a while after. I was told that for this broken crown to be fixed for free, I had to schedule another, separate, service with them. Updated 3/26/24 the crown on this tooth just came off for the third time. Speaking of my face, I have never in my life experienced so much mess- it’s like being waterboarded- my hair and face always end up soaked by the hygienist. My second issue is that my husband left his last appointment in so much pain that he was crying and unable to work or sleep for days- I have never seen him experience pain this debilitating and that’s not normal. My third issue is that I had asked for some cosmetic work to be done. They said they could do it and then said they ran out of time. So I scheduled a separate appointment knowing I had an important work event coming up. I was told the cost was $37 with insurance. I took the day off, came in, and they said “Oops it’s $1,000, we made a billing error.” They offered to do the work anyway due to their error and said they’d handle the billing later. Then someone else came back and said they couldn’t do that after all. I paid what I could and got half of the work done, but the gums on my top two front teeth were so damaged during this appointment that they were bleeding and scabbed for days. Updated 2/24 sharp pieces of this cosmetic work continue to flake off. They later called me and said I should have been able to get the work done and not at that cost, but that they had accidentally been doing our whole family’s dental work under my birth date which was why I had no funds left with insurance to fix my mouth. They said they’ll have it fixed “hopefully in 45 days.” I have no idea if any of our out of pocket costs were necessary at this point and am not thrilled to have shelled out so much money without their being sure of what we owed.

I had a procedure done and unfortunately did not realize this office is not in my network. Fast forward I had an infection in the tooth that was worked on at this office. I went back and was not properly informed of all my options as I did not know endodontics was a specialty division that I could go to. During the conversation I realized they were not in my network and thankfully decided to get a second opinion. In the end I do feel like this office is mainly for profit in some aspects and not for informing the patient of the best option rather that benefits the office or not. The staff are all very pleasant to deal with it but I will not be returning.

Beware folks! My wife called this company and asked if our insurance is in network. They confirmed it was and we thought the dental insurance we pay for every month covered a portion of the bill. 6 months later, get a bill from Modern Family for $700+ and they told us our insurance was not in network. The billing manager, who was "looking into this issue" said she will get back to us. NOPE! Sent the bill straight to collections, who charged us an extra $75 fee. Lesson learned. Will never recommend this company to anyone I know.

The last tooth cleaning was not good. The lady grabbed my face every which way. She was not gentle at all. She was nice but she was not upto the standards I was used to coming here. She put fluoride on lips as well as teeth. Also the lady who comes in to talk about payment plans will benefit from taking a class on customer service and practicing empathy.

I had a dental emergency with severe pain, I called at 3 am in morning, clearly not sleeping. I got an immediate automatic text message. I was pleasantly surprised to get a phone call very as soon as they opened. The very professional young lady found me an open appointment at 8:30 am that day. The entire staff treated me so well, took multiple x-rays and a diagnosis of the problem. They were able to start the very next morning with my procedure. I also wanted to add that I have ptsd, and have close confinement issues, they were so patient with me. I haven't had my final crown put on yet but I expect it be as smooth sailing as the rest. So I'm extremely pleased with how much care and professionalism, as well as accommodating they were. The price is comparable to what I expected. I don't have insurance so it was out of pocket that day, but I didn't expect any less. They have a program which I plan to look into, frankly I was in too much pain going in that didn't pay attention to it. Thanks so much ? Doyle

Gave me higher numbers when probing. Said I could not refuse deep cleaning treatment unless it would be fraud. Never took into consideration I am a cancer patient and that a consult should be made wirh my oncologist.Tried to make me pay $650 for a treatment plan. Would not allow me to get a regular cleaning. And had no regards to my concern or non ability to afford these services. Staff was different from all the other times I visited and were very pushy.

Aggressive marketing at its best ….scheduled an appointment out of my very busy schedule to perform some deep cleaning and after all said and done , they denied me service because I did not want to purchase a “kit “ they sold for $350. It’s up to the patient’s discretion whether to buy a product or not and I felt very much pressured. They might be knowledgeable dentists but I felt intense marketing and felt a lot of pressure. I cannot believe they denied me service for not wanting to buy a kit and they also wasted my time. Anyways I went to “Friendly dental” across the road and felt much happy. Not only were there rates better , but very good service and absolutely no aggressive marketing trying to sell things. I live very close by to Modern family dental and unfortunately cannot go back as long as they have this policy. Too bad but it is what it is…

I recently had to have a tooth extracted. The procedure, which was estimated to take 30-60 minutes took 2.5 hours. It was grueling and brutal. What made it better was Bianca, the dental assistant. She let me know what to expect and reassured me before the procedure (I was nervous), comforted me during the procedure and called me the day after the procedure. For a procedure I probably should have gone to an oral surgeon to get done (both the dentist and I had to put our back into getting that tooth out), Bianca made a very unpleasant process more tolerable than it had any right to be. Bianca is a gem.

PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COST!!! After my family’s experience here, it’s clear they focus more on a sales pitch than medical assistance. Do not trust them if they tell you that you need a “special cleaning” or have to have any special work done. Especially, if there’s no sign of that for you. If you do end up going here I URGE you to get a second opinion else where. These people will absolutely lie to you in order to get more money. My family scheduled a meeting with a lawyer next week. Hopefully, they sue them enough to put them out of business so, they can’t continue to take advantage of people anymore.

Dr. Pernell Rogers drilled on 4 of my sons teeth. I asked him to show me the decay on the x-rays and he couldn't. They never finished cleaning his teeth but charged us as he had braces and adhesive which they never got off. Dr. Rodgers also drilled on my back molar and NEVER FILLED ii! how do you leave an open hole and don't fill it? I'm disgusted and advise anyone thinking of coming here TO RUN!!!!

Avoid this place at all costs and do not let all the positive reviews fool you. I just received emergency dental work as a result of Dr. Taj Haynes incorrectly installing my filling. I started experiencing gum pain and went to my usual dentist office, Skyview Dentist. They took an x-ray and showed me that because Dr. Haynes failed to contour my filling to my tooth, and instead, made it too thick, food had gotten stuck in between that tooth and the next and had inflamed my gums. Skyview removed Dr. Haynes incorrect filling, replaced it in the correct manner, and I am now pain free. Skyview took another x-ray after it fixed Dr. Haynes sloppy work and the filling Dr. Haynes installed and the filling installed by Skyview looked completely different. I deeply regret ever going to this practice. Pay attention to how many clients left reviews saying they were told they had cavities, just to find out that they did not by another dental office. I do not think this office is honest and they do incorrect dental work. I will never return, and will tell everyone who asks to avoid them.

The Customer Service Manger Melissa M.is dishonest and not consistent. I had an issue with the hygienist Sajitha and Melissa stated that Sajitha was just doing her job. I need to have a cleaning done and there was information needed to determine the type of cleaning. I received three phone calls, a two text messages, and had face to face conversation about a cleaning that I had scheduled for March 25th for the cleaning. Sajitha called me on the 24th in the afternoon (Third call) talking about the same thing and I tried to tell Sajitha that I was aware of what she was saying and that I spoke with someone face to face and received two phone calls prior to her. She tells me that there is no record of any of that. I was frustrated and hung up and finished my work. I called the office later that evening to cancel my appointment for the 25th because of a work conflict. Melissa stated first that she was outside of the dental room when Sajitha was trying to talk to me and I canceled my appointment then. That’s really odd considering that my mouth was numb and I could barely talk besides that is what I was trying to tell Sajitha when she in the room for my very first dental impression. I informed Melissa that I scheduled another cleaning appointment for April 21st the very last time that I was in the office for my second impression. She stated that she heard me cancel my appointment at that. Another lie. Why would I schedule and cancel an appointment in the same setting. Melissa goes on to say that my appointment was canceled because information was needed from my previous dentist. I asked then why I wasn’t I contact about the cancellation. She stated that she doesn’t have an appointment for me. For Melissa to be the Customer Service Manager my first experience with her was horrible. The other office staff, the other hygienist, and Dr. Haynes are simply amazing. I would continue to visit this location if Melissa M. was not there and could have any hygienist but Sajitha.

I'm extremely afraid of needles. Dr. Taj and his team are extremely gentle and painless. I have had cleanings, fillings and extraction of a wisdom tooth. Minimum discomfort afterwards requiring only Tylenol. Highly recommend Concord location.

The dentist came in and said I had cavities when I didn’t. I went and got a second opinion with X-rays from a different dentist and they did not find any cavities at all. It’s sad that a dentist would try to get money out of patients by lying about dental work.

I was there yesterday at this office with high tooth pain. After examining my teeth in x-ray and pictures, Dr suggested multiple options to secure my teeth and get relieved from pain. Dr and nurses explained very well with the pictures and models giving me more insight. The staff and nurses especially, Sajitha, were with me all the time for support and answering my questions. First appointment went great! I was apprehensive because I was needing to get a tooth crowned - something I have put off for 4 years, It was time. I had a great cleaning - very knowledgeable and answered my questions. I was offered two different things that could be added to my treatment if I wanted them. They were not pushing about it ... it was totally up to me. We talked about the tooth I was in need of getting fixed. Again the explained. Quoted my a price. They did let me know they could do it today. They answered my questions and I told them I was nervous about the Novacaine. They assured me I would not feel it. I don’t know how he did that but I did not feel a thing. The cleaning and the first part of crown was successful. I go back in a couple weeks to get My crown went on with no problems. It feels great. I am looking forward to my next cleaning. Everyone has been great and friendly the permanent one on. Everyone was very nice.

Staff was super awesome from the time I arrived. Dr was very informative and patient with questions. My greatest concern was the financial portion as most dental insurances cover very little when it comes to major oral health issues. Too my surprise, it's amazingly affordable! The last place I consulted with wanted $18,000 for my oral corrections without implants. Here less than$7,000 including implants! I thank God I found Modern Family Dental Care.

I did get the opportunity this time to have Dr. Teak and Hygienist Jeanine work with me. I had dental surgery and I am pleased with the how gentle Dr. Teak was with me. I had my first root canal here and Taj was amazing. I have tendency of passing out when getting blood drawn, IVs, piercings and shots. Taj did an amazing job administering my shots and I felt almost nothing! That definitely lowered my anxiety and appointment was amazing! I was recommended Modern Family Dental by a colleague and I was not disappointed. I typically do NOT like the dentist...at all. But the staff at MFD are super great! I had my first appt with Susan who is a GEM. She was so sweet and chill and I loved how she talked me through basically everything she was doing. Dr. Haynes is SO nice and he makes you feel like he's known you forever. I recently had my second appt (fillings...ugh). Chelsea was the sweetest and she offered to hold my hand through the injections bit of it (which I totally took her up on) and she and Dr. Haynes made me feel more relaxed during that procedure than I've ever been. I won't say I can't wait to go back (because who actually wants to be at the dentist like that haha) but it's definitely the best dentist I've ever been to!

Please read!!!! Do not go here!!! This place is why I do not like dentist. If you don't have insurance they will push you to buy this plan they have to save you 20 percent of your bill. All they do is jack it up 20 percent first... Way over priced.. plus they push you to pay up front. . Please get second opinion if you have gone here.....trust me! You Will Save Money!!!! But also know,.. If you do get a second opinion, don't let them know, they will send you a letter stating they do not want to be your dentist anymore. These people are greedy and rude. They also wanted to do a root canal on one of my teeth that didn't need it. Please get a second opinion if you have gone here ..........

We had a great first experience at Modern Family Dental! My son was nervous about having his space maintainer removed but Dr. Haynes kept him very comfortable, and checked with him regularly as he was removing it to make sure he was doing OK. He was very personable, and made us feel very comfortable! The receptionists were super friendly and patient, and worked quickly to get us in for our appt. The paperwork was all available for me to complete online when we made the appointment, and I thought that was super convenient! The hygienist/assistant was very friendly and put my son at ease, and communicated very well throughout our entire visit. We are happy to have found a great new dentist so quickly!

If I could get everyone to change their dentist and switch to Modern Family Dental Care, I would. I became a patient about 5 years ago and when my company switched insurance providers, I had to find another dentist. When the switched back last year, I returned home back to Modern Family Dental Care. The staff is amazing and Dr. Taj is pretty dope! I had my wisdom teeth removal today, I got all four teeth removed and I can honestly say the procedure went fantastic! I did not feel any pain whatsoever and I barely felt any pressure. Dr. TJ Haynes performed my procedure and Ashley helped him throughout the entire process. I loved how they both made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire ordeal and told me the necessary information I needed to know. I have put off getting my rootcanal for years with fear of the pain of having someone touch that tooth. Modern family dental care encouraged me to get this taken care of ASAP in hopes of saving my tooth rather than losing it. I was super nervous but finally had Dr.Metty do my rootcanal and it was painless! I was so surprised and felt silly for waiting as long as I did and risking losing the tooth just because of my fear of the pain. Husband and I visited this location for routine cleanings and never returned. They got the best of me and convinced me I needed 5 cavities filled (I had never had any cavities before). I didn’t hesitate to have them filled because at the time, I barely had availability to attend appointments so why not go ahead and get it taken care of? I was 7 months pregnant and thought perhaps I had been eating just a tad more sugar. Biggest mistake. The hygienists were rude and impatient. I’ve gone to another dentist since and received much better care, as well as honest treatment regarding my teeth. Now onto my husband’s visit, he left without even getting his teeth cleaned because they were trying to convince him he had periodontal disease, needed special treatment, and had two cavities. I stopped that dead in its tracks. We went to another dentist four days later, as he still needed his teeth cleaned, and they confirmed he in fact did not have periodontal disease and no cavities, etc. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Usually I try to avoid the dentist office unless it’s an emergency or a scheduled cleaning. Prior negative experiences have left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Yesterday I had a cleaning and consultation with Dr. Taj and his hygienist Sarah that was by far the best experience I’ve had in the dentist chair. They created a custom plan that matched my goals, timeframe and budget. Sarah was AMAZING, she made sure I was comfortable, informed me of every step along the way, and gave me tips and advice that have worked for her. If any friends or family mention needing dental work I would absolutely recommend Modern Dental.

Modern Family Dental has an affordable dental plan--best pricing in the area. Other dental offices also offer a dental plan; however, the cost is at least $50 more than Modern Family Dental. They provide estimates with hidden codes and bump up the out of pocket expenses. similar procedures elsewhere costed 60% less. they take money to setup appointment and when you cancel the appointment they don't refund money easily and keep routing you to different departments. I was looking for an orthodontist then my husband called around and found this ofc and he was told they’re running a promotion for invisalign. The price was reasonable compare to the other ones we called so we went ahead and did it. My husband paid them in full because he doesn’t like monthly payments. So the treatment begin. I used to wear it religiously for the 6 months until all the trays are gone. I came back to remove the buttons to have my retainers. Dr. Hayes, the owner and the one who initially saw me was not there but the female dentist dr. Medi was there and she assisted the two dental assistants removing the buttons. I told her I’m not satisfied with my teeth in the middle because one of my front tooth in the upper, the one on the right was crooked and it was sticking out making it look longer than the one on the left. I asked her if I can have another set of trays but she said no and made some excuses why it’s not possible. So she insisted that if she file my tooth, it will solve the problem and make it move and eventually align with the one on the left, I told her no but she kept convincing me because I kept repeating to her if I can have another set of trays because I know (common sense) that my tooth just needs to be moved in a different direction. She was so persistent to file my tooth telling me that that’s the only way to fix my tooth so I hesitantly said yes she filed my tooth! I was so disappointed and I wanted to cry because my tooth has gotten shorter! when I came back I told the two dental assistants that I’m not satisfied with my upper front teeth, the two in the upper middle, and they called Dr. Hayes and he ordered new set of trays. I told him what the lady dentist, Dr. Medi did to my tooth. I asked him what can be done to fix my tooth and he said not much, veneers won’t fix it or porcelain stuff won’t work to make it longer again so I suggested to him maybe move my tooth that was filed pull it down a little bit to align with my left tooth but the following set of trays that were given to me didn’t help. It kind of straightened the filed tooth but the more it becomes straight, the more obvious it’s shorter than the other one. Dr. Hayes is nice and easy to talk to but not Dr. Medi. Three months ago when I came back to have my buttons placed, I saw her on the hallway and she looked shocked and disn’t wven smile at me when I was all smiling at her. I’m disappointed, definitely will not recommend.

At my first appointment I had to wait over 40 minutes to be seen and yes I had scheduled that appointment. Not how you should treat 1st time customers or any customers for that matter. After that visit I called to schedule my next visit and was told that BEFORE I can even schedule an appointment I would have to pay the full amount for the next appointment prior to even being able to get on the schedule. Even if the appointment was for 6 months out I would have to pre-pay 6 months in advance before I could schedule an appointment. Sounds to me like this business does not want me as a customer as this is an unethical policy that didn't come up until I called on the phone. When I asked about additional details regarding this "policy", it was stated that the policy exists due to the high number of cancellations. This "policy" was not presented in writing with the real policy sheet that they make you sign. I'm wondering what's the basis for this? I am being punished for other customers not showing up at their appointments. That's not right. They should say that's the policy up front. Do not go here if you want to feel respected and trusted as a customer.

My first appointment was wonderful to get my xrays. My second appointment was scheduled over a month ago and they reached out to me once by text on May 16 and no follow up until today June 3 to reschedule my appointment for that same day. The girl on the one only offered the following: 1. One option for that same day that conflicts with another appointment that I have. 2. Reschedule for a different date and time when I'm taking the day off to handle all of my appointments and 3. Travel to a completely different location and see a dentist that I've never met before to do the work For a new customer no follow up since May 16 until today is very unprofessional and apparently they expect the customers to accommodate to them instead of them doing a better job in the follow up instead of waiting until the week of the appointment to contact me over the phone to reschedule. Not a very good impression for a new customer and just like the dentist time is valuable, my time is just as important and valuable.

With respect to dental implants or dentures this location I think is highly priced or overpriced. My experience was just overwhelming The Cure I don't think was genuine and I would not recommend this location for anyone who is seriously considering Dentures or implants. My experience here was reminiscent of being at a used car dealership where you are almost geared or driven towards purchasing the highest priced denture implant. And short I was very disappointed and discouraged. I do take comfort in knowing that there are other locations in Charlotte that are much more reasonable and genuinely caring.

No need to be repetitive.My own experience with poor record keeping and insurance are the same as everyone else .My wife's dentures and my own dental issues were never resolved.After exhausting attempts to clear this up with this practice., I finally had enough and stopped going.Their solution is to turn you into collections which I am disputing. This review process is only good for one thing.That is to prove to the BBB and The State dental Board, and Metlife I am not alone in my feelings.Buyer Beware

They asked me questions that were more doctor related then the dentist. Over all a good visit, but have definitely been to better offices. I was offered a $100 off a consultation. When I arrived I was immediately told about the wellness plan. I then had X-rays done by a new girl who didn’t know what she was doing and didn’t explain the process at all. The hygienist came in and looked at my teeth she said they looked good just a few dark spots on my wisdom teeth and moderate gingivitis. Dr. Metty came in and told me I had cavities and would need filings. Then they brought in a receptionist to explain what I needed which was a cleaning, gingivitis treatment and 6 filings! I’ve never heard of a gingivitis treatment and I was not aware that I would need 6 filings. I politely declined to schedule any further appointment with them. I did not like Dr. Metty’s bedside I felt like she was looking down on me and chastising me and talked to me like I had never been to the dentist before. She also did not know what side of my mouth was on the X-ray she was showing me which I think is due to the X-ray techs lack of training. Dr. Metty also made it seem that she was not sure if I had cavities or not. I also did not like that from the waiting room and in the exam room I could her the girls at checkout talking very loudly. The whole consultation took almost two hours which was ridiculous. It was also not in documentation that I had been offered a coupon for the consultation and I had to pull up the emails which was inconvenient.

This practice’s goal is very clear: MONEY BEFORE PATIENT. While undergoing a routine cleaning, the dentist discovered that I had a cavity. I agreed to have it filled and everyone stopped what they were doing so that the lady could charge my card before proceeding with the cleaning/procedure. I actually had to pull my wallet out while sitting in the examination chair with a bib on to pay the receptionist. On a separate occasion, this practice had my wife pull over her car to charge $800 dollars on her card before just making the appointment to get her cavities filled. As a physician, this is uncalled for and something we would never do in our office.

The dentist isn’t my favorite place to go but it’s a necessity to have healthy teeth . These people at Modern Dentistry have this this down to a science . I came in are greeted by Nikki Ward and I immediately feel at home and confortable . We discussed my needs , she had a plan for what I needed and I saw the value in that . I then went back to the chair .. oh hell here we go but no, Sara got me ready to do a cleaning , she was very professional, through , and easy on my teeth and gums explaining as she went along ! The dentist who I am sorry that I forgot her name also do a great kid and explained everything including what to expect next time . VERY PLEASED !!

I am very disappointed in this dentist. I will say, beware of a dentistry that ask for a warranty on their work - in which they charge a fee for. I've had 2 crowns fall out within a year. And since I didn't opt for the warranty they declined to fix. What is it worth paying for enamel build up when it comes off after 3 years???? I can't express how disappointed I am at Dr. Taj work. I've been to a lot of dentistry before and had lots of work done but this is the worst ever!!!!

This place is borderline fraudulent. I went for a cleaning and they told me they couldn't clean my teeth because I needed a special gingivitis cleaning because my gums were at 4's and 5's. I have never had that happen before. They then showed me a payment plan that they wanted me to sign. I was skeptical and went back to my previous dentists office who said my gums didn't rate more than a 2. Not only that, when I requested to transfer my chart, which they emailed, they charged me $30. All they care about is making a buck.

I see Dr. Metty and she is beyond great,she really listens to what you want and makes sure that the process is painless and simple as can be. I used to hate going to the dentist and it may sound crazy but I have so much fun going to them, you truly become apart of the Modern Dental family and I will definitely be sticking with them for all my dental care needs !!

Yes I had a horrible experience and your dental office is ripping people off throwing them in collections for fraudulent charges. I had a tooth extraction for which I paid for before the procedure. I now get a bill 8 months later that went straight to collections saying I owe a $151. I did call and your office talks in circles all knowing you are screwing people. This seems to be a common practice with your office. After my one and only awful visit I will never return. You advertise sedation dentistry and that’s a lie, your office is dirty and your staff is unprofessional. I found a great dentist who takes great care of me right next to you guys. I had a tooth pulled with no antibiotics given after. I was sweating and screaming in the dental chair, I still have nightmares from this visit. So getting a bill several months later for a nightmare experience is not sitting well with me. You have a contract with my insurance company if you don’t like what they are paying you either drop them are give the patient the chance to choose if they want to pay the amount you are now charging before your service. I have had the same active duty military dental insurance for 19 years and I have never been back billed like this ever. My sons wisdom teeth with sedition didn’t cost as much as this one tooth being pulled that after the dentist got started let me know I have good bone structure when the tooth wouldn’t come out. I have reported you to several people today for fraud including my insurance company and your collection agency that you love to use has everything on hold. I am not giving into anymore bad business practice and running and paying it because you can screw with my credit. I know how insurance works and I know what a rat smells like and trust me you are a dirty rat. You are entering people into a cell phone drawing who give you a 5 star google rating that says a lot. You won’t win with me this time and I have contacted the BBB and I want stop there. So since you don’t get on the phone but you get on google wanting to know if you can help well it here is you got what you asked for!!! You should have gotten on the phone today like a professional instead of hiding behind a google review. Thank you for teaching me to stand up for myself and to stop being afraid!!!!!!! The first time Concord Mills- Modern Family Dental Care contacted me was on 02/06/2019 by email, and claimed that I owe them the amount of $133.30 for more than 2 years ago. They also attached the agreement for payment form which includes my name, address and social security number. I don’t believe that #Modern Family Dental Care does not know about the HIPAA Law, but I do think that they simply do not care. As soon as I received the notification from #Modern Family Dental Care, I made a phone call and talked to one of the staff, and tried to clarify the statement. At the end of our conversation I told her that I will send a check. On 02/12/2019 I received a bill from Transworld Systems Inc. Collection Agency of the amount of $133.30 So instead of #Modern Family Dental Care would send me a bill, they sent the bill directly to Collection Agency. I wrote a check and was getting ready to send the payment, but I received another bill on 02/18/2019 from Transworld Systems Inc. Collection Agency of the amount of $160.53 I had to make several phone calls just trying to clarify the amount and where to send the payment. #Modern Family Dental Care offered no help. After all the frustrations I ended up paid the Transworld Systems Inc. Collection Agency of the amount of $160.53 using the VISA. All the above is the fact, and I will let you be the judge, is this fair? I hope this is the end of the frustration with Concord Mills - #Modern Family Dental Care. I will never go there again.

Let me get the proverbial "I don't usually write reviews" comment out of the way. I'll be fair. So had some work done in September. Had a couple of issues with the initial quality of the services, and they rectified it without too much of a hassle. BUT..... ....Their bookkeeping is atrocious. Every time I walked out, I asked if I owed anything. At least five times I was told "no". And yeah I get it...Sometimes insurance companies don't pay what they estimate, and we have to come out of pocket with some additional money. But I WAS NEVER SENT A BILL. Usually we get that from other medical providers so we can true up the balance. I'm OK with that. But again, I was never sent a bill or given a phone call. Nothing. Wait I take that back... ...Last week I notice some random 706 number blowing up my phone daily. I don't know anyone in Augusta. Finally on Thursday, I pick up the phone and BAM! It's a collection agency collecting on behalf of Modern Family. Imagine my astonishment to learn of this dept from collection agency. I am maniacal, with regards to monitoring my credit, yet here I am being blindsided by a collection agency for the first time. I will say, the lady at the collection agency was really nice. So here's the worst part. I call Modern Family, and they acknowledge that they never sent out any bills. Apparently there was some turnover in the billing dept. Fine, but whose idea is it to contract a collection agency to go after your customers? That's a terrible idea! I'd imagine that dental practices are built by cultivating relationships with customers. Why wouldn't you just call me and ask for the measly $269? Why do I have to call you? By the way, the lady at Modern Family brazenly asked me to settle up with her while we were on the phone. I said no, because I have no faith in their accounting. I'll let the nice lady at the collection agency process my payment tomorrow. -Trey Taylor

My husband received dental implants going on 3 years ago and its basically been a nightmare. I initially suggested this practice (University location)to him being there was a location near our home where we had recently moved. Initial visits were good, staff and dentist were nice & friendly, which that hasn’t changed but the workmanship and product turned out to be way less than desirable. My husband has spent more time going back & fourth to this office to have repairs done than should be necessary for three years and for the amount of money we spent! Posts consistently come out, there has been teeth that came out, bleeding gums, you name it, its happened and all he ever gets from the office is “I’m sorry” “I don’t know why this stuff keeps happening”. My husband has been way too nice about this, in my opinion, but we both are frustrated & irritated because we spent a lot of money for this work and a lot of time has been wasted for him taking off work to have to consistently go back for issues. I don't feel like they are openly acknowledging that this was a poor job & product. Note, I never went back after being quoted, in my opinion, a ridiculous cost for a deep cleaning. Found another local practice that I love but unfortunately for my husband he had started the implant process so can’t change to anyone else to fix the issues already caused withou paying more money. We would Never recommend this practice for dental implants due to experience anything else we can’t comment on but this one very bad experience is enough to not recommend at all.

Would not honor there $250 wellness plan that is supposed to help anyone without insurance. It’s just a scam to get you in the door. The plan is supposed to cover 2 cleanings amongst other treatments. I was also in there office for close to 4 hours on my first/last appointment. I assume this was because of my current lack of insurance. Just a bad experience all around.

I had a horrible experience at Modern Family Dentistry. I had an in office wisdom tooth extraction and I’m still recovering after 3 weeks!!! I had multiple complications including the stitches falling apart, extended swelling and infection. My crown on the tooth before miraculously is loose now and they refused to do anything about it because of their policy that states their not responsible for subsequent injuries. They decided to stick the policy vs doing the right thing. I just wanted to leave their office the same way I came in and not in a worse state. I do NOT recommend this dentist office!!!!!!!!!!

Do not go here if you have dental knowledge. They do not want patients that know about their teeth. They assume you know nothing and do not properly inform of what they are doing. No matter what happens with your teeth they will say it is "normal". If you ask too many questions or dispute the diagnosis or treatment they will quickly become patronizing and keep repeating the same information.

I visited the concord mills location at the start of this year. The front desk staff were ok. When brought back with the hygienist, I immediately let her know that I’d always been afraid of going to the dentist and it’s been a while. Well, she wasn’t welcoming at all. She said I needed to do the steps of Periodontal repair. They had me sit with someone about the price. But they didn’t seem helpful one bit. I didn’t feel welcome or wanted when I left there but I still decided to get scheduled. A few weeks later I called asking if they could email me with the full price needed for the procedure. I never got it. I called three times (twice speaking to someone and once in a voicemail). I never received a call back. I later decided to go with another dentist in the area. They’ve been amazing since the day I walked in. And assured me that I had no issues with periodontal diesase. I really wanted this office to work for me, I was willing to pay right out for everything that my insurance didn’t pay. I wouldn’t recommend this office to anyone. I feel like I was judged from the moment I walked in the doors.

They were great it was my first time getting a root canal and I was in so much pain they did what they needed to do to squeeze me in their schedule they the day to get all my work completed in the same day both doctors were great and very informative and reassuring to me to make sure I was comfortable and taken care of. They saw me same day as I called for emergency dental care. I have severe dental anxiety, which was diminished by the constant support of the staff. They allowed me to take breaks and kept telling me I was doing a great job. Doesn't sound like a lot, but it's the little things that make a place stand out. I highly recommend the wonderful care provided by Dr. Taj and his team. Very Harrowing experience. They are just out there to fleece your money. My treatment involved placing a crown and my toothache still persisted. Then they tell me that I have to undergo a root canal and that'll cost me another $500-$1000. My dental insurance paid for most part but had to decline some part of it as they were overcharging. And, I had to shell it out of my own pocket.

I am not a fan of going to the dentist, as I'm sure most of you aren't either. However the staff at modern family are amazing. Extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Dr Haynes is a godsend! I have had to do some major dental work recently because I have not been able to regularly visit a dentist due to the outrageous cost without dental insurance. Dr Haynes and his team have been great. I have had a few fillings and a crown done in the past couple of months and it is amazing how great my mouth looks and feels. They truly are artists! As for the cost they are about on par with most other dental offices but where they shine is helping with payment arrangements! I did not think I would be able to afford the work I needed but they were willing to work with me and i now pay more per month for my water bill than I do for all the work I just got done! I would highly recommend this practice, and both of their locations, as I have been to both and they are both amazing. If you are after great work, affordable prices, and a pain free experience with a caring professional dentist, Dr Haynes is your man!!!! If you see this, thank you again Dr Haynes!!!

VERY DISPLEASED MILITARY SERVICE MEMBER. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. In regards to the dentists and dental care provided I was pleased, but I am not pleased at all at how the financial side of the business work. The office waited over a year to find out whether my claim was paid. Instead of receiving a phone call or e-mail shortly after the visit, the office waited OVER A YEAR to try and file for a claim. Tried working with the financial manager at the location to rectify and the next call I receive is from a collections agency. Expected more from this company as my family and I went here for years with all bills paid on time. Instead of calling to rectify the situation when they were first made aware of it they instead dragged their feet and push burden and stress to customers. Spoke with financial manager and instead of working with the customer states that "I have a job to do". Very, very disappointed that they treat customers and military service members in that manner.

I had a consultation in August. I needed assistance with paying the portion of my bill which my dental insurance did not cover. I was not approved for care credit, so I was offered a payment plan with a new plan that the dental office had signed up with. I was told it would take 2 weeks. Called back in 2 weeks I was told they were still working out the details. I called again in September still nothing. It is now October and I still have not heard anything as of yet. Anyway I have not heard from them so I have moved on to a new dentist. And lets say I am very happy with my new dentist I am almost complete with my dental plan and I had 3 cavities that Modern Family did not detect.

All I'll say do your research first. I feel like I was duped out of my money. I went in complaining about gum pain and left with a filling to fix a cavity in my tooth. Me knowing nothing about dentistry figured the doctor was saying the pain was being caused because of the cavity. Thing is that was 2 days ago and the pain is just as bad maybe even worse. I paid $400 to not have the issue resolved. I already felt uncomfortable when $249 was processed before I even got to the room. Then was pressured to pay for my unnecessary procedure that didn't even fix my issue. I'll pass on returning and would also like to cancel my annual enrollment. I already have a fear of dentists and this made it even worse for me.

DON'T purchase dentures from these people! I took my mom to them in January to get a new set made. It took them 3 tries to get anywhere close! Here we are in July and she still doesn't have a set that will stay in her mouth. We've gone back for repeated visits to make adjustments. The last visit they left us sitting for an hour. We tried to get resolution to the problem but each time we call the person who can make that decision is out of the office or on vacation. I paid $3,000 for a set of dentures that sits on the shelf!!!! If you chose to go here don't pay in advance like we did. ?

I took my son there shortly after we moved into the area after reading the good reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was not good. I was told my son had 3 cavities.... His first ever. Since my health insurance only had preventive care, I would need to pay upfront/out of pocket for fillings. I paid for the first one, and he had it filled. I decided to buy into a dental plan my husband's employer offered. When I called back the office after the new dental insurance was effectived, I was told I would have to still pay out of my pocket. After talking with the insurance, they told me it was not necessary and how the dental office should handle it. I again tried to schedule his next 2 fillings, but again I was told the same thing...pay out of pocket. So I decided to take my son to another practice to have his cavities filled. Upon his first exam, I was told he had NO cavities!!! The new dental office, had state of the art xray and took pictures of his whole mouth. They had to assure me several times they found no cavities or anything that required fillings. Now I can not be sure if he even had the one cavity they already filled late last year. I am SO grateful they gave me a dfiffcult time. My son would have more unneeded fillings!!

Modern Family Dental has continued to be my dental office even though I have moved 20 miles from Concord. I like that they keep me with the same wonderful hygienist, Lucy, who is thorough and gentle. When I first went to Lucy, my teeth were in desperate need of cleaning. Since then, we've had no major issues and now that I'm on a 4 month cycle for cleaning, my teeth no longer have the plaque build up I used to have. Dr. Taj is professional and the staff is great. I have received really great care here. I went in December to get my four wisdom teeth removed. As a first time patient I received a free X-ray and consultation. There is no anesthesia here so it was a very painful removal. It affected the nerves in my tongue so that it is still partially numb 6 months later. I've been hearing that this is a somewhat normal thing and it's almost back to normal. They scheduled many free follow up appointments to see how I was progressing and have been incredibly caring, personable, and professional throughout the whole process! They are quick to listen to all of my concerns and address them, as well as ask about life outside of my mouth.

Modern Family Dental Care is the best! Dr. Haynes and his staff are GREAT! Everyone is always friendly and accommodating and they really get to know you on a personal level. I have had a lot of dental work done over the past several years and some work that I had done was not done correctly and had left me nervous about dentists period. When I came to Modern Family Dental Care for my consultation visit in January 2016, I expressed these concerns to Dr. Haynes and he listened to me and reassured me that that would not be the case here. He was right, I had a missing tooth from a few years ago, and had to have a second tooth pulled and 2 implants placed. Although the process is not fun and the time it takes from beginning to end is a bit long. My implants were finally placed in December 2016 and over the course of this process I have had no problems, no infections, and very little anxiety. Dr. Haynes is very calm and makes you feel at ease during the procedures. And best of all - He gave me my smile back. No more missing teeth. Before finding Modern Family Dental Care, I had two other consultations and the pricing for 2 implants was shocking. Plus the other places were trying to get you to do more than was necessary. Dr. Haynes' pricing was much lower than expected and I did not feel he was trying to push me into doing more than was necessary. They also have payment options if you need them, which made this very possible for me to have my work done sooner. I drive almost an hour to this office and I think it is very much worth the drive. This is the best dentist office I've ever gone to, and here's why. The staff is always professional, warm and friendly, and EFFICIENT! The practice offers a wide array of services - from general cleaning to whitening to Invisalign. I just completed my Invisalign treatment and I'm thoroughly pleased; I feel that I received a thorough and reliable consultant from a knowledgeable team. And finally, Dr Haynes.....what can I say? He is the best dentist around. He has the ability to put you at ease no matter what procedure you're having (I just had a root canal). He gets the job done quickly and accurately the first around. I trust his advice, he has never led me wrong, and I have a nice set of pearly whites to show as proof! After experiencing a skilled dentist like Dr. Haynes, I don't want any other dentist to ever touch my teeth. I highly recommend this dental office, you will not be disappointed!

I had an appointment today for a CLEANING. When I got there the staff was all standing around chit chatting at the desk (5 of them to be exact). When they finished their conversation long enough to acknowledge me they finally checked me in. My appt was at 09:40...I arrived at 09:30, I was finally taken to a room at 10:00. What I am assuming was a dental assistant then took 3 X-rays and did a gum exam. Then the dentist came in. Then I was told I was finished. When I asked about the cleaning (why the appointment was scheduled) I was told that would have to be done at a different time.....Im assuming more visits = more $ from my insurance company. It is extremely difficult for me to get a day off during the week...finally did and this place completely wasted it...my teeth were not cleaned and now I have to take another day off so I can get my teeth cleaned! Ridiculous. Ive already talked to my insurance company because I am sure this place will tell them they did a cleaning when they didn't!! This place is full of shady practices.

This is my 3rd time trying to post a review and about the middle of my reply it dissappears. I am giving the practice a 1 star rating, but it is subject to change depending on how they handle my situation. I have a tooth that needs attention very bad. I emailed them app. 3 months ago about the problem and have not received a response back. This tooth had a root canal and crown, which he had to redo, no fault of mine, and has continued to be a problem.. It has gotten more loose over the months. He gave me a topical antIbiotic which did not help. It is very lose and I am miserable with this tooth. It is my opinion, that it needs to be pulled, and replaced with an implant. I have emailed them my thoughts about this and that's why I figure I haven't heard anything. All the people that work here are very professional, and the dentist, he has such a great personality. I am confused about why they have not returned my email. This practice would get a 5 star rating from me if they take care of the problem.

Amazing staff! Everything was clean...they have televisions on the ceiling (they give you the remote) so while your getting examined you can enjoy the view! They take pictures of your mouth with a cool camera and show you your X-rays and the pics on another tv (makes it easy to see). Explained everything throughly...gave me options and made me feel in control (gave me a recommendation and let me decide on what I felt was best). My visit was fantastic and this will be my family's new dentist!

Went in for a third molar extration that has been causing an intense amount of pain. The aids that assisted me were all very sweet and professional. I wish i could remember their names to give the credit. The doctor was also great. He had my tooth out in under 5 mins with zero pain. I will be going back to have the other 3 removed and for my primary dental care.

Terrible experience. Dr. Haynes did a terrible job on my wife's root canal, to the point where she refused a follow-up visit to correct the errors he initially made. He was inept in his ability to perform the procedure, even though this was never communicated to us. We went to three other doctors afterward who said the quality of the root canal and crown were nowhere near industry standards. When we asked for a refund for the procedure after my wife continued to experience multiple issues the office refused, but offered to correct the mistake with a follow-up visit. My wife was not comfortable with this resolution given how poorly he'd performed the initial procedure. I'm not sure his capacity beyond doing simple teeth cleanings and cavity fillings. I would caution anyone considering a root canal with Haynes to seriously reconsider. The discounted price was nowhere near worth it. I guess we got what we paid for. Lastly, I would add that when I came in for my own teeth cleaning - my first and only procedure with him - he tried to push additional procedures onto me that were not necessary. This seems more like an office much more concerned about patient volume than quality/customer satisfaction. Just be careful! Dear Modern Family, In response to your apology note...nice try. It is obvious that your office is highly concerned about patient reviews; understandably so, particularly now, given you're in the middle of a marketing campaign via Groupon. Having said that, I think you should know that two years ago I requested a refund for the root canal procedure Haynes unsuccessfully attempted on my wife but was denied any refund and only offered to have Haynes fix the problem he had caused. If a doctor messed up on a heart transplant or brain surgery because he was not qualified to perform such a procedure would you go back to that doctor to fix the problem he had no right trying to address in the first place? Based on conversations with our endodontist it's clear that Haynes performed a procedure on my wife's back molar when he did not have the technology, tools or expertise to perform such a procedure - perhaps even certification. As a result of Haynes' procedural mishaps my wife will need to have the root canal completely redone because it was not thoroughly cleansed leaving portions of the canal susceptible to infection and decay - in fact, this is a most likely case according to our endodontist. We paid your office $2,000+ after insurance, which was a discount. Now we know why we got the discount. None-the-less, had we known Haynes lacked the expertise for the procedure we would have rolled that same $2,000+ into the cost of having an expert perform the molar root canal. Now we've paid your office and will need to pay another doctor (a real expert, mind you, who is unlikely to offer a discount) more money than we paid you to undo what Haynes did. Let me end with this, if you are truly sorry and concerned with patient satisfaction you will refund us for the amount we paid for a procedure that will need to be redone entirely. If you'll provide us the refund so we can afford to have my wife's root canal redone, I will remove this negative review and the matter will be settled/resolved. I'm happy to take this offline if you'd like - let me know.

This staff was so kind and accommodationing. Dr Haynes has a great bed side manner. It took me a year and a half to find a reasonably priced professional staff to do my 2 implants. Melissa did all the billing info which took 5 min and I got a 24 month interest free payment plan. It's a bit of a drive for me from Charlotte but worth it. You should give them a try.

Like many people I don't like going to th dentist! First visit to Dr. Haynes had to have a cavity refilled (had been having alot of discomfort). He was great with explaining everything prior to starting and I didn't feel a thing! He also called a couple days later to see how I was doing which means alot. As Always! I encountered a Wonderful experience at my Dentist appointment today! My Dental Hygienist Ashley is the Greatest! My Dentist Dr. Haynes has such Wonderful Chair Side Manners, he's Simply The Best Dentist I have ever had. I thank each of them for the Continuous Pleasant Visit since my very first appointment with them February 23, 2012. My views of how I feel about my dentist office has changed. What is so disappointing about this matter, to this day, my dentist haven’t tried to reach out to me yet to find out why I haven’t been there this year. Sadly, earlier this year I tried to reach out to him and explain myself through the messenger, and some pr person of Dr. Haynes responded stating I needed to speak to someone else in their office regarding the matter, but not Dr. Haynes. Really! It has come to that! & when I first started we had a relationship like family! I was allowed to convey any of my problems or concerns, but now I cannot. I am very sad and disappointed that it has come to this because I really liked Dr. Haynes as my dentist.

I hate how expensive the prices are but what dental office that you know have low rates. Besides it doesn't hurt the pocket so bad if you have an OUTSTANDING dentist like Dr. Haynes! I went through a season (being laid off) where I couldn't afford a quality dentist and some of those experiences were traumatizing and it really hurt the health of my teeth. So going into the dentist insecure about the damage that had been done was a obstacle for me. Dr. Haynes and his staff made me feel welcomed as soon as I came in the door and they let me get my anxiety out by listening to my journey. My fear of needles is no more. My teeth were in horrible shape. Dr. Haynes helped me figure out what treatment plan worked best for me and gave me options I could chose from. He speaks to his patients like they're friends or family instead of just a patient. Everyone of his staff members are always very polite and professional. I am really really glad I found his office when looking for someone who would understand not only my concerns about my smile but my financial concerns and wellbeing as well. Most dental insurance nowadays cap out at 2000 yearly. . I needed much more than that so he was able to tailor a treatment plan I could afford to keep confidence in my smile. I went to dental works and the Dr wanted to do $26,000 worth of implants and such. Which I couldn't afford number one and number two it was hard to see myself paying that much when the dr was bragging about his $125,000 car. Thanks so much to all your staff who have assisted me and especially thanks to Dr. Haynes. He is awesome.

Dr. Haynes has given me the smile that I have longed for my entire life. My teeth were discolored because of Tetracycline staining when I was an infant. Because of that, I as very ashamed of my teeth. In 1977, I was able to get veneers and between then and now, have had some type of veneer on my teeth. However, nothing has looked like they do now. I feel like a movie star. Thank you, Dr. Haynes. You have given me the best Christmas present ever. P.S. I almost forgot....When I had my temporaries put on a couple of weeks ago, I received the first compliment on my smile that I have ever received in my life. Can you imagine? And that was just the temporaries.

Dr. Haynes is AWESOME!!! I had 3 wisdom teeth and 2 fillings done 12/3/15. I was so NERVOUS that I was shaking, but he was very patient as well as his assistant Maxine. They allowed me to calm down so he could get started. I can't believe now how easy they made the process. Today, I have followed their instructions and my recovery is great!! My husband was with me and he said, as he watched the process, "Dr. Haynes is good, that is who will do my dental work". The office staff is very pleasant and exemplify EXCELLENT customer service. They welcome you and make you feel comfortable!! The office is very clean including the bathrooms and waiting area. Dr. Haynes is a miracle worker. I had the worst teeth ever and needed extensive cosmetic and dental work and Dr. Haynes gave me the most fantastic, beautiful and amazing smile. My teeth looks so natural (EXACTLY as it was pictured in a magazine that I wanted) now. He should be in Beverly Hills or New York somewhere, that is how awesome and amazing his work is. His facility is so clean and beautiful and the best part is it doesn't stink of dental gas like most practices. He is extremely gentle, caring and personable and trust me, you will never feel any pain and half of the time you won't even know he's still in your mouth (not to mention he's really nice on the eyes). Dr. Haynes has the greatest staff ANYWHERE!. They always answer and address ANY questions and concerns that you may have. They even answer questions that you may not have even thought to ask. Today, Maxine assisted him and she was the sweetest, most patient and caring person ever. Actually, ALL of his staff is. They all greet you with a smile and most of all, they remember your name! Cecilia is a doll (she helped on my initial visit) and Melissa was so great setting up and getting me a financial plan that was flexible and affordable. Modern Family was recommended to me by a family member and that was a recommendation I will always be grateful for. I'm 43 years old and I never wanted to show my smile and thanks to Dr. Haynes' miracle, angel hands, I look and feel 10 years younger and can actually smile for the first time in years! Dr. Haynes' knowledge, expertise and his personable customer care is beyond any words I can express! He is such a perfectionist that he checks, then checks again, and checks one time to make sure you are more than satisfied with his work. He has truly been blessed with a talent unlike I've ever known. It's like going to the spa! First visit at 7 months pregnant, scheduled the very next day for all 4 wisdom teeth removed. I was in and out within 45 minutes and went to work the same day. Painless and relaxing, this is the most gentle, competent and caring team I have ever visited. I went in over a year later for a root canal and they remembered to ask about my baby. Definitely not a compassionate dentistry. It's mostly about making money to this company, at least at the Concord location. I went in with 2 complaints. First, a toothache and second a gap needing closed. They did all the necessary x-rays and said they didn't see anything wrong with my tooth that was causing me pain. Then when they wanted to close the gap they suggested I get Invisalign. That was the ONLY option they said I had available. WHAT?! That's $5000!! All I wanted was a bridge or something along those lines. When I came home and told my wife, she called there as well to explain that Invisalign wasn't an option and asked about a bridge. She was told they would call us back. Well, we never heard anything. 2 days later we called back and left a message. Still, no call back. I'm in so much pain today that I went to another dentist who QUICKLY saw that my tooth was cracked and that is the reason for my pain. He also suggested Invisalign but after I told him that was too expensive and not really an option, he said they could do a bridge! BIG difference in price! The only reason I gave them 2 stars was for convenience and cleanliness. I would seriously consider another dentistry before going here!

Your hygienist (Maxine) was so wonderful with our almost-3year old during his biannual cleaning. She explained everything she was doing before doing it and it made him feel at ease and part of the process. It made mommy feel at ease too!! I am happy with their dental service and satisfied with the results. My rating on this is more towards their practice of taking advance for any dental procedure they perform. I have never experienced this before and none of my current and previous doctors do this. The normal practice is to take the copay (if any) perform the procedure , bill the insurance and wherever is patients responsibility , bill to the patient. I understand their anxiety over recovering money from patients that are not willing to pay for some reason but what about patients those pay advance and after the insurance has been billed and still have a positive balance in their account ? Should they not get their money back ? They may argue - Yes, they can call our office for refund and we refund that in 90 days. Sorry, that did not happen as I specifically wanted to test this. My wife called and its been way more than 90 days and she did not receive a refund. I don't know if keeping a balance for such long duration is even legal. Like they are skeptical about patients paying off their bills , look at the other side of this too. We patients are also skeptical that we will ever get our balances back and they will keep on rolling . And for some reason, if we move out of town or move to another dentist , it will be more difficult. So please , if after you still have a positive balance for a patient after billing the insurance , please refund him/her his money and you are welcome to take advance again for the next procedure but don't keep money in your bank for long duration as we can also invest it wisely and get some returns on it elsewhere.

I visited recently for my tooth extraction for each tooth extraction they charged $165 looks like very high comparing to others and also they asked me to pay the amount out of pocket upfront instead of sending the details to insurance first and getting the bill back from insurance, I paid per their estimations. Once after tooth extraction I was trying to understand the bill from Billing/Payment department..it’ been my 3rd day I am keep calling to billing department that always goes to Voice Mail left VM but no response!! I informed to front desk she said she will let Billing dept know but no response.

I was not happy with my experience there. I do not like their billing and payment practices at all. They were not upfront with me saying I had to pay for my procedure before I got my work done. I had to sign a financial contract before we knew exactly what the insurance company was going to pay. Let’s be clear, I have no problem paying for the work that needs to be done BUT I thought that was a blindsided way of doing business. I’ve never had to pre-pay for dental work. (This was no copay either) I went through with it anyways then a month later I get an email stating I have an additional $120 balance that needs to be paid. I never received a phone call just an email telling me to call my insurance company with any questions. It’s funny how in the beginning they were doing all the insurance work for me but when it comes down to end and they have majority of their money… it’s my responsibility to do the rest or they are going to charge me for it. I do not recommend going to them unless you are going for your 6 month teeth cleaning. That is all that they are good for in my opinion. Sorry they burned me and I’m not happy about it plus my jaw still hurts. I did not like the fact that they were not honest.

Today I had the first visit of my crown appointment and it was so easy and best of all painless. Even the dreaded numbing process was easy....I literally felt nothing! Dr. Taj and his staff really run a tight ship. I enjoy packing 100 to-do items a day into my life, so I really don't like to be kept waiting. In all the time that I've been coming to this office, I don't think I've been kept waiting more than 2 minutes past my appointment time. I LOVE that! Plus, they have free wi-fi access so I can still knock out a few items if I arrive early.

My wife and I both went on different days and we have separate insurance companies. We met with billing and for the procedures being done we were both told that we had to pay a deductible and a co-pay and the services would be covered. A month after our appointments we both get bills for over $200 each. Practices seem sketchy, I would go somewhere that is a little more honest. After looking at other reviews it looks like we were not the only ones!

I have had excellent experiences at Modern Family Dental Care. They convinced me to purchase a Phillips Sonicare toothbrush that I was hesitant to purchase, but after doing some research, was competitively priced and has made a remarkable difference (and a lot less scraping) at my last cleaning appointment. Ashley is a wonderful hygienist and I love watching TV while getting my teeth cleaned. Dr. Taj always takes care of my dental needs and is one of the most pain free dentists I've ever used. I highly recommend Modern Family Dental Care.

I had another wonderful visit with Dr. Taj, the MFDC staff, and my hygienist Mary! I waited less than 5 minutes to be seen. 30 minutes later I was finished with my comprehensive evaluation, cleaning and visit. Mary is a wonderful hygienist. She is thorough, gentle and friendly. She took the time to answer all my questions and gave me some solid advice when we were done. Dr. Taj was his usual friendly self and we had a nice unhurried visit. Lastly, I appreciate MFDC's clean and welcoming waiting room and treatment areas.

I have been to Modern Family Dentistry 4 times. I was in a lot of pain from a tooth that needed to be extracted and a friend referred me to them, telling me how nice Dr Haynes was and how I'd be able to use a coupon for a free first visit+ x-rays. Being a couponer, this information really held my attention when I was making a choice of Dentists. The wait time during my first visit was rather long due to an emergency patient that had come in but other than the wait, the visit went smoothly and I was very pleased with the service, the staff and the Dr. At the end of the first visit the staff went over my payment options with me and were very forthright about insurance and about what I'd be required to pay if I didn't have insurance. I had to wait a couple of days to get a paycheck so that I could put a deposit down on my next procedure but once I did, we scheduled my procedure/2nd visit. Upon my second visit I was brought back relatively quickly. Again the staff was super friendly. My procedure wasn't the normal extraction and complications arose but the Dr handled it with grace and integrity and fixed me up right. The instructions I was given for after care were clear and I was sent home. That afternoon I was still bleeding severely ( due in part to the complications and in part to me being an easy bleeder) so I called the Dr and he asked to see me again first thing the next morning. I went back the following morning and he checked me out, giving me the all clear. I went back a week later for my follow up appointment and things are healing nicely. Once again the staff was very friendly and helpful, explained everything I needed to continue doing and Dr Haynes was just wonderful. I have already referred a friend and will continue to refer others to him because this is the best dentist I've ever visited. I've had good and very bad experiences with Dentists in the past so I am very pleased to have found a place for my future oral care.

Well I must say I did have a good review on here, but customer service goes far beyond a friendly staff. My experience besides a friendly smile was terrible. Nothing was explained to me honestly for my benefits. Granted a patient should be aware of their benefits but when someone sits you down and goes over an estimated cost of what you insurance will pay, the patient assumes all that is on the paperwork is included, especially when you are told that by the staff. This was not the case. I was told my lump sum estimate would cover all my expense and if any was required at all afterwards it would be very little. Then I was emailed a bill out of the blue before my EOB were even processed. When calling to check on this amount, they could not explain it and said sorry it was there error. Then after the last visit, I was hit with another large lump sump, which I was then told my insurance did not cover fluoride treatments. I was never explained either that my insurance only covered half of the white fillings. I would think something like this that is done regularly at a dental office, the staff would be very aware of what is and isn't covered by insurance companies. This should be explained to the patient and the patient given the choice of whether or not the work be done. Especially for fluoride treatments, which is most definitely elective. Then when I called I never received a definite answer on why this was not explained to me. I also think it's convenient that there are no paper bills mailed out to the patient, only emails saying what you owe. So once I paid off my balance, I tried to call and speak with a office manager and was told on the phone they did not have one. So I asked for a Supervisor or Office Coordinator and was told I could just tell them my problem and they would relay it. Once again convenience for them. Finally I was told that they had an office coordinator and he would call me. I still have not had a return call. Guess once they have my money "case closed" so to speak. I would recommend finding an office that will be honest on all counts, not just great with patient to staff friendliness. That's a shame.

I've been to many dentists in my 58 years and never before have I been so happy and satisfied as well as so well taken care of! My daughter and I had been without dental insurance for 8 years and since we are both on limited incomes, did not have the resources to pay totally out of pocket. We were a mess!! When we moved from Northern VA to Charlotte NC, my niece recommended her dentist, who she had totally raved about.....which of course turned out to be MFDC. She gave us each a referral card and we made appts right away. To be honest, my teeth had gotten so bad, I hated smiling....and that's sad because I'm really a very happy person and I like to smile. This group...the entire office staff...was so kind and supportive and even excited about helping me *get my smile back*. I'm halfway there now....and I already feel like a different person! I love them all, and Dr. Haynes is an amazingly gifted, caring, knowledgeable and compassionate dentist. I can't say enough good things about him and his entire staff. The office itself is attractive, comfortable and even has internet access and game systems to ensure everyone's wait is enjoyable (even Keurig coffee, etc!!). All of their equipment is cutting edge. You'd think that given all this the prices would be astronomical. Well...in that respect, they are very reasonable and not only that, they also offer a discounted wellness program as well as financing because they understand it's not easy sometimes...and it's obvious their desire is to give everyone the best opportunity to ensure their teeth, gums and mouths stay healthy! I could sit here and write so much more....like the fact my daughter is disappointed that her teeth are done and she doesn't need to go back for awhile haha....but I'm sure I've probably said it all. Except, THANK YOU Dr. Haynes and the incredible staff of MFDC! You have changed my life!!!

Great dentist. My family came here on a whim, because we weren't happy with our previous dentist. What a great decision! The staff at MFDC are always so nice and caring. My wife called to tell them that she wouldn't be able to make her appointment once, and in passing mentioned our daughter being sick as the reason. What did we have in our mailbox just a day or two later? A get well card for our 3 year old signed by the entire staff! They treat you great here and Dr. Haynes is very informative and skilled. Can't imagine going anywhere else now.

Sadly, my family and I need to depart for the primary reason of location. However, there have arisen some scenarios in which have soured us from continuing to a relationship to have our dental needs met. This is reducing my rating from 5 stars to sadly 2. I can't recommend Modern Family anymore due to the constant upticking of fees, and prices of services that actually we are finding to be less elsewhere for the same service by practices at the same level or above. I am uncertain why the pricing is rendered as it is, and to obtain our personal records in going to another practice, it is costing us money ($10 for each record), but we will make things right as we move on. I will actually miss the gentleness I've always encountered from seeing Dr. Haynes when he did work on my teeth, as he was the first dentist in years to not hurt me while getting novicaine. But this isn't enough to keep me and my family here, as the reality is, I have hardly seen him for any appts in awhile. I know he's been expanding the business and has another office and has a growing team, but I (and my husband and son) signed on to see him...not someone else...on a more regular basis. Just a personal preference. Anyhow, up until recently, it has been good...but it just got a little sour recently. And the timing was coincidental in that we are moving practices in order to find someone closer to home.

Modern family is a great dental care facility. Dy Haynes and his staff is very cordial and professional. I was not a big fan of dentists due to my past experiences, however modern family changed that. I needed deep cleaning and several cavity work done, which Dr. Haynes and his assistant were able to do very skillfully and without much pain, they are also guiding me well to stay on course. I had my wife also go there and she needed similar work as mine and hence we did have a big bill, but they worked well with our insurance company to make sure its not too hard on our pocket. Overall a great place and I would highly recommend them to everyone!!

I love modern family, I have been going for a couple years and everyone is always very nice. The office is so nice and high tech, I wish the dentist I grew up with had a tv over the chair, that is awesome especially for kids. They always explain what they are doing and are surprisingly gentle. I have never had any issues with payment, my husband had to have several teeth pulled and his insurance ended up not paying as much as he had thought but, we were able to work out an affordable payment plan. We were really worried about the bill since we are a single income family right now but, they were very understanding and worked with us, which was nice. Overall it is such a great place and I would definitely recommend modern family to all of my friends.

I found the staff and the business practices to be dishonest. I believe the dentist recommend work for my child which didn't need to be done. I followed up with another dentist and receive a completely different recommendation. Just to add if that experience wasn't bad enough I began orthodontic service with the dentist for another of my children before I knew the dentist was dishonest. I had one problem right after the other with the billing and even receiving a response back from my calls. I ask to cancel the service even though I had no signed agreement with the dentist. The dentist declined my cancellation and continued to bill my credit card. I complained and still received no return phone calls or resolution. I was charged for services I hadn't even received I knew the difficult in receiving a refund I stayed with the dentist. What a mistake. I so wish I had walked away and worked to receive a refund. I can't understand how a dentist can stay in business providing services like he does. To conclude the dentist and staff have been dishonest I don't like to use the words lied but honestly they did. The dentist charged me for work I did not receive and recommended work I did not need, The staff would not return phone calls and there is little recourse if you have an issue with billing as the office has one person an she will not even admit her mistakes or fix the issue without several calls.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! I had not been to the dentist in over 10 years and picked this place because it was in my network. The place looks really nice but on my first visit they did several screenings and didn't tell me I would be charged for the cancer screening which is $ 61.00. Then they sent me to someone to talk about my financial options who wanted me to make payment arrangements for $11,000 dollars that i could not do. So they then broke it down telling me i needed to have the deep cleaning and extractions first and added in 2 fillings to use more of my insurance benefits. I later realized my insurance covers 100% of extractions and fillings!!! They were going to have me pay over 300.00 out of my pocket for services my insurance covers. I cancelled all my appointments and I'm going somewhere else. I will never go here again nor will I ever refer anyone to this place.

Terrible Terrible Dentist. Its all looks and overpriced, but far from quality work. They try to scam you with doing half the cleaning and then try to use your 2nd insurance visit for the year 2 weeks later to finish it. Went to another dentist and they didnt try any of that. They will also charge you for things not covered by insurance and that are not necessary. They also put on you bill 30$ flouride and they didnt even do it!!!!. Go to OASIS, we went there and they were great!!!

My girls (ages 5 and 6) have NEVER been to the dentist and going to see Dr. Haynes and his staff was their first encounter. Everyone was GREAT!!!! Friendly, professional, and very kid and "first time mommy at the dentist" friendly. I am so glad I received their mail notifications regarding the new office/location/hours. They were prompt in returning my email request for an appointment and we were able to have a good first visit w/Dr. Haynes. As far as I know, this first/routine exam was entirely covered by our insurance but we did have to pay a minimal fee for a "superficial cavity" that my youngest one had. Truly minimal, I pay more for gas in my SUV!

After going to about 3 different offices we decided to go with Modern Family Dental Care for my son's braces. The office is beautiful and everyone makes you feel so special every time you come in. We upgraded to the Damon Clear braces and were worried that the brackets would stain over time. After 4 months they look as clear as the day they put them on. Thanks for the great care!
