I am 4 months out from my Rhinoplasty surgery performed by Dr. Paul Chasan. Undergoing this surgery was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I am a petite girl, and my nose was very large for my face. It had no real shape to it and was very distracting from my other facial features such as my smile, jawline, etc. I had felt self-conscious about my nose for years but always felt way too terrified to consider plastic surgery. I came across Dr. Paul Chasan’s before and after pictures of his rhinoplasty patients and my desire to have the nose he so masterfully crafts overpowered my fear of going under. But there really was nothing to be afraid of! Everyone at Ranch & Coast Plastic Surgery, from the office staff to the nurses, anesthesiologist, and of course Dr. Chasan are the best of the best. I always felt I was in good hands. Everyone I just mentioned goes above and beyond to ensure the day of your surgery is calm, organized, and stress-free. I had very (very) little bleeding post-surgery, limited bruising, and shockingly low pain. I switched from the pain medicine to extra-strength Tylenol less than 48 hours out. There is some discomfort, and your nose is sensitive, you will be breathing through your mouth for a bit, but it is not painful. Personally, I was holding some swelling on the bridge of my nose and Dr. Chasan gave me a shot of steroids and it went down within 2 weeks. Dr. Chasan has perfected crafting a nose that looks natural on his patients’ faces. I do not look unrecognizably different or like I underwent surgery. I simply look like a prettier version of myself. My new nose fits my face and now my smile, jawline, eyes, etc. shine :) I have more self-confidence than I could have imagined. From the bottom of my heart, I am so grateful to Dr. Chasan and everyone at Ranch & Coast Plastic Surgery.

I had rhinoplasty done here at the end of 2018, the staff was phenomenal and always made me feel very welcomed. My nose needed a lot of work and I was very happy that Dr Chasan saw every detail that had bothered me for years. Shortly after the surgery (no bruising!!) I loved my nose, and because it was still healing, i never gave much thought to the parts that weren’t perfect because I figured it would settle with time. During the numerous visits following my surgery Dr. Chasan recommended I keep taping my nose at night for months because the bridge had a small bump due to swelling, he eventually injected me with steroids (i think) for the swelling. I expressed concern about a bump on the right side of the tip of my nose but Dr. Chasan just smiled and said he couldn’t see it and that my nose was amazing (even though it was obviously there and had even been pointed out by other people..). He also suggested every now and then that i push down on my nose and spread out to the top and sides to subdue the swelling on the bridge but I now have excess skin around my nose (not there prior to surgery) so this caused creases on the sides my nose. After over 3 years, I don’t think the swelling will ever completely go away, i have some good and bad days, although lately it feels like the swelling on the bridge and even the width is getting worse and its really starting to get to me (which is why i’m finally writing this review). i still gently push down but I don’t want to have to do this forever… The bump on the side of my nose has been my biggest issue for these past few years (but the swelling/width mentioned before is probably my biggest concern at the moment) because it’s very obvious (especially in photos) and because I have a small dimple in between said bump and the tip of my nose, so it looks awkward having 2 bumps and a dimple in an area where the only “bump” should be the tip itself. About 2 years ago I realized that my obscured breathing was not allergy related but likely due to my septum probably being deviated, I always thought my nose wasn’t centered, but I assumed it was the bump on the side that made me think this so I never gave it much thought. With time I’ve come to accept that these things happen, revision rhinoplasty is popular for a reason and I know the nose I was born with wasn’t easy. Regardless of these things, I do like my nose a lot more than before, it changed my life. I am still a bit insecure, mostly because I’m not the only one that can tell it isn’t perfect and people know I paid SO much money but it’s nothing remotely close to my insecurities before. I don’t regret getting rhinoplasty but I’ve come to terms with the fact that I will most likely have a revision rhinoplasty in the future. I’ve started to research other surgeons but I’m a bit hesitant that it still wont be perfect and I’ll be out of so much more money that I already don’t have being a student. Hopefully some day I am able to go through with getting it fixed and truly feel secure. Dr Chasan and his team were always so nice and always made me feel comfortable, I wish I could remember the name of the lady who was always with me. The atmosphere at Ranch & Coast is phenomenal and although I ended up running into some issues, if you don’t you don’t have such a large complex nose, I’m sure Dr. Chasan will do an excellent job, you can tell how knowledgeable he is and how hard he tries. I feel really bad about leaving this low review, because everyone here was truly amazing, but I spent ALL the money I had when I was 18 to get the nose I always wanted, and now I will have to spend even more to get it fixed some day so yeah :( Thank you so much

I want to share my story not only as a patient, but as an employee of Dr. Chasan’s. I had a rhinoplasty done with Dr. Chasan a month ago. I cannot explain how happy I am with the results. I feel so much more confident in myself. I have wanted a rhinoplasty since I was 15 years old. I was always super self-conscious of my side- profile. From the side my nose had a hump that drooped down and looked smushed. Also, from the front I had a bulbous tip. I have worked for Dr. Chasan for 8 months now as a registered nurse. I have an enormous amount of respect for him both professionally and as a person. After working with him and seeing how much pride he takes in his work I knew there was no one else I would trust to do my surgery. Even though I work as a nurse with Dr. Chasan, this was my first surgery so I was pretty nervous. Dr. Chasan made me feel very comfortable and assured me that he would give me the nose I should have been born with. His bed side manner was warm and kind while still feeling like I was in professional hands. Overall it was a great experience. The hardest part was removing the packing on the first post operative day. However the nurse, Wilma was very gentle and kind. On day 5 I was able to see my new nose for the first time when Dr. Chasan removed the splint. I was in such shock at how amazing it looked that I actually started tearing up, it was such a moving moment seeing my new nose in the mirror for the first time. He truly gave me the natural nose I should have been born with and now I feel confident and secure about my side-profile for the first time. My bruising was very minimal and could easily be covered with make up. Now, I am constantly getting compliments from my friends and family on how great it looks and suits my face. He is the best with surgical scars that I have seen and a very caring doctor. I recently had a belt lypectomy from him and love the results. I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Paul Chasan. I was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer in February 2012. As a 37-year-old new mother, it was such a devastation to receive the news of this diagnosis in an already stressful and overwhelming time. I feel extremely lucky to have been under the care of Dr. Chasan and his staff. They are so talented, knowledgeable, and caring and went above and beyond with everything. They really put my mind at ease which made me confident that I had definitely chosen the right surgeon, and was in the best hands. I opted for a double mastectomy and Dr. Chasan is one of the very few plastic surgeons who does both skin and nipple sparing mastectomies with immediate reconstruction. He practices cutting edge procedures that many other surgeons do not. That being said, I traveled from San Francisco to Del Mar so that Paul could perform my procedure. My results exceeded my expectations and I was thrilled! If you have any doubts at all or are trying to choose the top plastic surgeon in Southern California, look no further. Dr. Chasan is INCREDIBLE!!! I tend to be on the perfcetionist side of personality, and when i first met Dr. Chasan i knew he was the doctor for me. He not only met my expectations he went above them and i now have the most perfect breast,which is amazing especially since they were two uneven deflated breast after having two kids. His staff is also wonderful they always make you feel so confertable and welcomed. Another plus is those of us mommies who need to bring our kids along with us there is a spectacular play room with every toy imaginable :)
