I have been coming to Dr. Ricardo for years, back when he way in his little one room facility. I have recommended many people to this dentist, even if some of the results are questionable. (my other daughters implant feel out after 6 months) We have a monthly appointment at 9am, we are always on time, and usually the Dr and his staff show up at 920-930. There has rarely been times we have started close to 9am. There has been times when the Dr. Was doing a surgery on a patient and we were stuck waiting over an hour, just to be told we needed to reschedule. Today we were 20 minutes late, which isn't an excuse by any means, but if the Dr isn't showing up until 920-930 we are right on time. There was a Breast Cancer walk and A Tequila Festival directly outside the office blocking and detouring traffic. Imagine my disappointment that my appointment was cancelled because of my lateness. The staff said since we previously had said we required the Dr to be early (not early, just On time) , we should have been on time. Absurd. The 1 time Dr Ricardo was "on time" in 2 years. Sorry that they lost a customer today, as well.

Wow! Wow and wow! I’ve been on a journey of improving my smile since 2020 and I had really bad luck with the first dentist I found in TJ. That first dentist charged me almost twice the amount Smile Dental Clinic charged me and he did a very poor job. My smile ended up worst than when he first saw me. Long story short…I had to have his crappy work completely taken down and redone. But Dr. Ricardo Navarrete with Smile Dental Clinic made it worthwhile. He is diligent, caring, honest and professional. He treated me with respect and took my concerns seriously. He listened and didn’t take anything personal. He definitely delivered based on my individual circumstances and put me at ease. No sales pressure tactics either. I felt he was sincere and caring. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for honesty and good workmanship. Also, if you have to stay for several days try Airbnb to save on lodging. Thank you ??

I was particularly drawn in by Robert's friendly demeanor, prompting me to visit in person. Arriving eagerly for my appointment, I mistook the doctor who greeted me as Robert, only to discover he was Dr. Ricardo, my dentist. Our conversation was unhurried, and I became emotional discussing my decision to undergo full teeth removal and implant procedures. Dr. Ricardo, empathetic to my situation, recommended a partial approach initially, but I ultimately opted for the original plan given my age and circumstances. Following this decision, I underwent a procedure to remove all teeth in one session, opting for local anesthesia to manage costs. Post-extraction, implants were promptly placed—four each for the upper and lower arches, acting as anchors for future teeth. Smile Dental advised staying overnight in a nearby hotel (covered by them) for observation and to craft temporary dentures. Before heading to the hotel, the staff escorted me to a pharmacy for necessary pain and antibiotic prescriptions. The next day, Dr. Tania swiftly crafted temporary dentures, emphasizing the importance of ensuring a proper fit. Subsequent appointments, spaced for healing, involved impressions for prototypes, with adjustments made as needed. At the three-month mark, impressions were taken again, requiring a surgical procedure to access the implants due to gum growth—a typical occurrence. Following this, a multi-day process ensued to fit and adjust the new teeth, culminating in a satisfactory outcome considering the investment. For those visiting, logistical tips included parking at Hotel Ticuan's garage and utilizing the appointment system, Fresha, via email. The team includes Dr. Ricardo for implants, Dr. Tania for general dental care, and Roberto for excellent communication. Reflecting on the experience, despite the necessary procedures and follow-ups, the outcome justified the investment, totaling $10k for comprehensive dental restoration at Smile Dental Clinical TJ. A follow-up is scheduled in three months, promising to update this account with further insights. Additional advice included obtaining a SENTRI card (plan ahead as this is time lengthy process) to expedite border crossings, minimizing waiting times significantly—an invaluable asset for those planning return trips.

I have done implant a little over three years ago now I have killer pain that my dentist told me I have to remove the implant because of the poor job have been done! My whole trip was waste of time and money. Now I have to go through the pain of the removing implant.

I just completed my second appointment in a week with Dr Navarrete, and I can't speak highly enough of him and his staff. My original appointment was to feel them out as I've had some less than positive dental experiences over the last couple years and hadn't found a good fit for a dentist. My search has ended and I'm very pleased with my choice! Dr Navarrrete was thorough, patient, kind, and I didn't feel a bit of pressure from him one time to choose a service which I have felt from many other dentists. He replaced 4 old fillings today and the process was timely and seamless as far as I can tell. They really know how to pamper you with the different options which includes a massage chair so you can relax during the process. They even have a masseuse on staff if you want a full body massage if you have the time. Very modern high end office, they're fallowing all necessary guidelines during covid-19, friendly and attentive staff, extreme professionalism in a warm environment and the dental assistant beyond pleasant. I highly recommend Dr. Navarrrete after my experience.

I have been going to Ricardo for years and I am going again in month. ( I live in seattle and fly to san diego) Ive had several crowns, bridges, 2 implants so far, bone graph, a third coming. Highly recommended, he will take of you like family.

I found Dr Navarrette from another website where he has good reviews. He replaced two of my fillings and did a cleaning. He is very knowledgeable and does good work. Total cost was a fraction of what my snobby dentist in the US wanted to charge me.
